bmoser would be proud of his Bandits this weekend and not because we won our 4th Super NIT in a row but because the bunt was a huge part of the championship game. 4 of the first 5 runs came on suicide squeeze bunts in the first inning. After the Beaver Valley Red finally played the bunt right we went back to the long ball and hit 6 home runs in the final game. Bandits did not give up a single run on Championship Sunday and hit the ball well all day long winning 8-0, 14-0, and 19-0. Papa also heard that Georgia represented their state well this weekend with the East Cobb Astros winning the tournament in Auburn, Alabama. Good job Georgia.

"Proud" does not adequately describe how I feel about Georgia's Bandits.

Very nice job. I would have liked to have our full team there but it most likely wouldn't have mattered. The Bandits were the class of the tourney.
Congratulations to their success.

One of the greatest things about playing travel ball is the friends and sometimes enemies you get to make. But even the enemies will eventually be won over if you respect the game and play it the right way. Papa even had some of the nicest ladies in baseball come over and made a photo with Papa. I just hope it doesn't end up in a post office somewhere or even worse on an umpire's bullentin board.

Thank you ladies of the Cubs for making Papa's day although next time make sure Mrs. Papa is not around before you allow me to give you a hug. She can be worse than a umpire sometimes.

I have no doubt that the Richmond Braves will qualify soon and they ever need a reference all they have to do is call baseball papa and they will be in the E32 for I can assure the nation that this is one of the best teams around and they seem to be getting better each week.

Does this team only play USSSA? I do not see them listed to play in the Triple Crown North Atlanta Open.

Check out this Super NIT in Lake Charles, LA Papa. This has many of the Texas/LA teams in it. Should be a good one for competition.

They have played everything imaginable through the years, and have won many Triple Crown events. If memory serves me, only failed to win 1 of all those entered.

They are in a SNIT in AL that weekend I think that has the #1 rated AL team competing, and the #6 rated team Nationally. They seem to seek out other Nationally rated opponents, or top Regional opponents they have not played yet (or recently). A minor factor in choosing this event over the TC ATL Open is the USSSA points they can pile up leading into the Elite 32 at Disney because that improves their pool draws. I highly doubt that was the leading factor though.

Just my observations from what I have learned by watching them for a number of years. If I'm off base, they'll correct me.

Unfortunately Papa, you guys may be out of Super NIT options unless you are willing to travel some significant miles. Looking at the USSSA schedule for the remainder of the season, things appear to be winding down. The Mississippi Super NIT and the Governors Games (Lake Charles Super NIT referenced) were two pretty challenging ones coming up that appear to be full. I don't know if you can get wait listed or not, and even then, you might get a call in the 12th hour which makes it difficult on kids/parents and making travel arrangements, etc. Perhaps you guys can scope out any remaining tourneys in the Florida area and participate in something down on the southern end. Having an opportunity to play some of the South Florida teams would be a good test and you guys don't see them that often in the regular season. I am sure there will be several that will be participating in the Elite 32 due to proximity and berths being passed on from other teams that have qualified. Just trying to help keep you guys in tune so you can be at your best for the remainder of what I am sure will be a long season for the Bandits!

Over a 50 team field. Pretty stout!

Tball; even a team like the bandits who everyone knows is the best in the country have to play at their best and coach their collective butts off to work their way through a 50 team field. Sorry if the calibar of play you must be used to means that if the 15 of the top 20 teams in the country aren't in it means its not a strong tournament.
