We had a great day and a half of pool games in all three age brackets so far! This open format with woodbats has made for some really good baseball between different classification opponents. Javy was here all day for 12 hours. He is going around to each team and spending time with the boys hanging out and signing autographs. I've never seen so many well dressed moms at a baseball tourney!

Looking forward to another day of good weather and good matchups looming in bracket play. Check it out at woodbatclassic.ngbsa.org AC

RACGOFAR, thanks for a well run tournament this weekend we had lots of fun, NO gate fee, talked to Javy, a couple of balls signed, a couple of wood bats for the team, pretty consistent umping, cool trophies, well groomed fields and great wheather.

That was some great baseball this weekend!

Congrats to the Rays....

Wish the Nats could have played in the tourney this weekend, but my middle son's 9u D-Dawgs did take home the title!

Gwinnett, agree with you 100%. A very well run tournament with nice facilities, consistent and approachable umpires, and great baseball.
Javy was a class act spending time and sharing stories with the players. Always good to see an old friend!
RACGOFAR, well done for hosting a class event. We look forward to next year.

I agree with you Gwinnett! It was a solid group of 11U teams with great kids and families. It was truly refreshing to see kids from competing teams hanging out and cheering for each other, not to mention all the siblings playing in the dirt piles and on the playground together. Congrats to Shiloh and the ECB Rays making it to the finals. Thanks to AC, his organization and Javy for an A+ event!

Morris Stimpson

PS- hope the boys from Shiloh get on the mend quickly! Happy that all involved escaped with a few bumps and bruises!

Thanks Gwinnett. The open format with woodbats is a great combo. It levels the offensive playing field between different classification teams and puts a premium on throwing strikes and playing defense.

Even though we had only 8 teams in 11u almost evey game was hard fought and the games themselves felt more like a super NIT. There were not that many run rule games across the three age groups, but oddly all the 'ships were run rule games. We hope to find some additonal organizations to partner up so we can accommodate all the teams that wanted to get in.

RACGOFAR - awesome event again this year! Congrats to you, Nora, & Javy on a wonderful job.

Gotta agree with ya Morris - one of my more memorable times this weekend was on Saturday seeing 7-8 Titans & 3-4 Rays sitting together on a park bench together enjoying BIG snow cones after they had just finished competing against each other. The Titans have a really good group of kids, coaches, and families - enjoy hanging out with them and hope their boys mend quickly!

The kids on all the teams must be improving because not many broken bats this weekend! See Y'all next week!
