The Roadrunners are playing Kennesaw Baseball in pool play. This will be the fourth meeting this year for these 2 teams.

Last 3...
Roadrunners win 9-7
Roadrunners win 10-8
Kennesaw win 11-10

Should be a very good game and the outcome could weigh heavily on the possible bracket placement.

Still very interesting that with 6 East Cobb teams in this Tourney, not once does an East Cobb team see another East Cobb team in pool play. Must be an unwritten rule.

Seriously?!! EC teams have met many times in pool play in many Triple Crown Tournaments. Lets not start slamming EC again.

I almost spilled my coffee on myself trying not to laugh....

The pool bracket schedule for every TC event are still online, check them out for yourself.

http://www.triplecrownsports.com/search_results.asp?eventType=tourny&sportid=1&stateid=10

Spring Frost - once (5 teams)
Slugfest - never (7 teams)
March Mayhem - never (3 teams)
Dalton - never (2 teams)
Back to school brawl - never (6 teams)

Statistical probability that this is a pure random occurance 0.0001%

I guess my sons team is in your 0.0001%. We have faced an EC team this year and last year many times in TC tournaments. Does it really matter if EC faces each other in pool play or not? Seems they claimed during the Slugfest when changes were made(at the last minute)that they try to make the match ups by rankings.? So glad you didn't spill your coffee on yourself...take it up with TC! ;)

What's a bold statement? I was just said that the SNIT was not a "flash in the pan" as claimed. It was not some freak occurance as there are 4 other tournament wins that preceeded the SNIT. Hardly a "flash in the pan." Also, I just said that they would be there ready to play, that we haven't been laying around the last 4 weeks "to savior (sic) their surprising victory" Didn't make any predictions, just that we will be ready to play just like everyone else.

Looks like clear weather for a great weekend of baseball. After 3 weeks off, I just hope our chilidogs can take a ground ball off real dirt. Uncle "chuck" gives us the Sunday hops. I agree with Smoke though, the 45's are the Clear Favorites. I think our boys had fun at the beach Smoke! Crablegs, and all!

Hope the rain skips over Marietta...doesn't look great for Friday games...hopefully fields drain well.

The weather is not looking so good for tonight and we have 10 games on tap in 13U alone. We may need to look at scheduling some of these week night games around the weather forecast in the future, when possible. Anyone game for a Wednesday night start for some of these big tourneys?

The Umpires at East Cobb this weekend was good, but the umpires at Wills Park and Webb Bridge was terrible. The umpires need to learn to be consistant to both sides instead of one side and they need to learn how to call balks. Not even a concession stand were open at Wills Park or Webb Bridge.

Congrats to the East Cobb Braves for winning the Championship in The Back to School Backyard Brawl this weekend. We all knew it was a matter of time before they found their stride. Also congrats to Chilidog Nation who came ready to play and were too strong for the 45s in the semis. Good showing by the Franklin Spiders, Knoxville Stars, MGBA Braves and Powder Springs Sand Gnats who lost to the EC Braves 2-1 in the quarters. The only not so bright spot this weekend was a little fan behavior. I was hoping the days of adults standing behind the backstop hollering "Swing Batter" were over but I'm beginning to believe word travels slow to some parts. In this particular situation the team, program and parents are better than that.

Braves and the longhorns represented ECB very well this weekend. First time seeing the Longhorn team and their Head Coach was a class act, Coach Whitney has always represented his team and ECB very well. At one point, I could have sworn there was a sighting of Darnell and Pulpwood in the shadows during one of the warm up games!

Agreed. I did not personally hear that yelled but heard it discussed afterward and agree that there is no place for it. There was a little bad fan behavior on both sides, however. I was standing near someone from the other side who never made a sound the entire game until a particular call at 1st base that he didn't agree with screamed at the top of his lungs "BS!" (the entire word, not just the initials.) The parents/fans from both sides should leave any comments to encouraging their own players or be quiet. Let's not have the parents/fans (from both sides) overshadow the great game on the field. The friendly trash talk behind the backstop between dads is fun, just keep it off the field.

Overall, I think that Triple Crown did a great job this weekend. Although, I would prefer if we had real, trained umpires in all games and not some guy in jeans and a sweatshirt (Longhorns vs HP). Especially in an elimination game.

Congradulations to the Braves, great championship game we look forward to playing you guys again in the future. On another note great job TC for making this tournament happen after North of Atlanta got pounded by rain and hail. I believe every team and player progressed this weekend because of your hard work getting the fields ready. Great Job!

Pulpwood thinks there's there gonna be some shake up at the top this weekend. Ain't been this much talent in a tournament since the SNIT. Should seperate the contenders from the pretenders. Any predictions boys?

Well Put P.W....Enough Said...

Congrats to HP and the 3x TC Back to School Brawl Champs "BRAVES"!
