Coming from a parent from one of the teams they beat yesterday. I agree that the Longhorns are the team to beat. Their pitching and defense looked great this weekend. |

From a Gamers coach I say Ga Yard Dogs the best 9u. Last week I saw them play 10u OTC lost by one walkoff home run and Saturday lost to 10u Ga Yard Dogs by 2 we talking about the same team that lost last year in the Elie 32 finish 3rd. I know Longhorns beat 9u Yard Dogs but play them in a 3 game Yard Dogs take 2 maybe 3
Top 5 Teams 1.Ga Yard Dogs 2.East Cobb Longhorns 3.West Forsyth Dawgs 4.East Cobb Braves 5.Ga Raiders |

If they've already played one, and the Longhorns won that one, it'd be awfully tough for the Yard Dogs to win 3 out of the next 2. I'm being a little silly, I know, but they have already played once and the Longhorns took that one. I'm sure they'll meet again once or twice before the year is over, and we'll find out. Also, doesn't a lot of this depend on which team one of the dominant pitchers who plays for both teams ends up deciding to play for during that/those games? |

At Coach Ga, thanks for all the support and props that you give for the 9u Yard Dogs!!!! Just a couple more tweeks and they would be good to go. Wish they could have played up in Cummings but they were already booked in to play in the NIT at REX. They played up in age 10open and brought home the SHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Seriously, how are your 2-5 (Longhorns, DDawgs, Braves, Raiders) any better than the Renegades, Copperheads, Reds, Warriors.....all who've won huge tourneys against these same teams.
And I've seen them both, I'll take the Longhorns over the Yard Dogs....

1) Longhorns 2) D Dwags 2) Renagdes 2) Reds 2) Raiders 2) Braves And this comes down to who shows up. The best pitching is on the Longhorns. The Reds are the best hitting team I have seen so far and the Renagades have a kid that when he is on will shut down most 10u teams. The D Dwags have pretty good balance and the Braves won early tournaments to deserve respect. The Raiders won the Super NIT which was huge. How do you call it>
YOU HAVE TO WIN TOURNAMENTS Look at what happend to the Raiders,Buzz,Angels when they came North they lost. I'm talking about playing on a 200 ft field where kids cover ground in the outfield and play defense. Did the Yard Dogs play this past weekend? The Longhorns are the number # 1 team and then there 5 to 6 teams that could win on any given day but it comes down tournament wins.

The Yarddogs Blk-9u did play this weekend at 10u-AA in what turned out to be a one-day shootout.
They won it. Don't count the dogs out. They're still Elite 32 WS qualified and they have one goal: WIN IT ALL. And when they get there, EVERY CHAMBER WILL BE LOADED. |

Very proud of the my son's D-Dawgs team. Made a nice run on Sunday but fell to a super talented Longhorns team. Have not seen all of the teams at this point, but the Longhorns are the best I've seen so far. Agree that there are probably a half dozen other teams who could win it all on a given day.

Be careful Cumming Baseball putting those Renagades up there in the top 2-3 spot. Those 8u Atlanta Angels beat them in that Oregon Park Tournament early this year, with the so call lights out pitcher on the mound starting. I guess those 8u Angels got 10u quality hitters in that lineup. |

I don't think the Angels won the tournament? I know they did not win that tournament. The OP Sharks won it, again who is playing 3 on Sunday either the runner-up or the winner and the right now Renagades are playing very good baseball. |

The main idea of the original post was...........there are A LOT of really good teams at the 9U level. We can debate and argue the merits of any single team (or northside vs. southside), but the reality is that there are about a dozen teams out there that are really, really strong. I think anyone who looks at their pool schedule and sees Yarddogs, WFDD, Warriors, Renegades (either one - N. Georgia or Carrolton), Longhorns, Reds, Sharks, Braves, Raiders, Copperheads, Buzz, Tigers has to be thinking, "that's a good team." And I'm sure I left somebody off of that, so no offense intended.
And Cumming - 8U Angels didn't win that fall tournament, but they played Renegades in pool play and beat them - then lost to them in bracket play later in the same tourney. |

Anyone know why the EC Longhorns are not going to the Elite 32 World Series? Are they waiting until next year? That is the most competetive tournament in the southeast. |

The Spring National Tournament still has open spots. I hope we see the Reds, Buzz, Yard Dawgs, Longhorns and any other team that says they are the best jump in, so that we can finally see who is the best in Georgia. The Raiders, Braves, Copperheads, Renegades, WF Diamond Dawgs have already stepped up, let's see what happens. |

Doing my research, the Reds have won a triple crown and a usssa tourney. I guess they have some sort of pitching. |

COOLROB, we know that you lost to the Copperheads, Renegades, Creekview, and Yard Dawgs to name a few. Could you explain why you feel your team needs to be considered as one of the teams to beat in the 9u class? I know that we would all like to hear your thoughts. |

It just wasn't a team objective for them this year I don't think. Not unlike this yrs 10u Longhorns didn't attempt to go last year but will be there this year having won the Atlanta SNIT.
They'd certainly be a contender if they went.
Looks like the 9u LHorns are on the schedule at the June 1st session GrandSlam WS event in Panama City. |

In the interest of full disclosure, if you're going to note the losses, note the wins. The Angels are 1-1 vs Copperheads (9-8,9-10), 1-0 vs Carrollton Renegades (9-8), 1-1 North Ga Renagades (8-7,2-8), 1-0 vs Creekview Jr Grizzles (12-11), 2-1 vs WF Diamond Dawgs (9-6, 9-8, 5-8), 0-2-1 vs Yard Dogs Black, 1-2 vs MGBA. These are the games I saw. There are a tremendous amount of good 9 year old teams in Ga. I wonder what other 9 year old teams records aganist the elite 9 year old teams are? |

I really dont think any one tournament is going to settle anything. The 9u division is a hard one to figure out. I believe there are at least a dozen or more teams that are capable of beating anyone on any given day. However, these same teams can also be beaten on any given day. It really comes down to consistency. I look at scores and watch teams, and I am blown away by something each weekend. Parity has hit the 9u group, and it's a wonderful thing to watch. |
