Watch this coming weekend in Clearwater Florida in the RK211 tournament 12u Major division an 11u team called Team Florida. They are the best 11u team in the country in my humble opinion. This team will surprise A LOT of 12u teams.

Here is a link, but the brackets dont look too exciting. I would have thought with the teams registered for this they would have made the brackets a little tougher.

If Team FL (12u) and MBA Pride finish 1st in their pools, they will meet in the semi-final game. That's a shame because they appear to be the two best teams in the tournament. |

Tough task for MBA. They were shut out twice by Team Florida a few weeks ago. Team Florida deserves a lot of credit for driving many miles to seek tough competition. In just a couple of weeks they have gone to Plant City, Atlanta, and now Clearwater. There are a few elite teams which prefer to play locally and not seek out the best competition. I suppose they prefer for the tough teams to come to them. Not quite fair. In the long run that strategy may may hurt them. Just my opinion.

Check that ... they changed from 4 pools to 2 pools. MBA and Team FL are now in the same pool. Hopefully, they will end up on opposite sides of the brackets. |

Dont look past Avalanche, Warriors, Boltz, 11u Team Florida, Miami Titans and Blackhawks. All those teams have shutdown pitchers. Avalanche tied MBA in a tournament not long ago. The Blackhawks have beat Avalanche and the Bad Boys who beat MBA. The Tigers scored 9 runs on MBA but gave up 12 in another tournament. So this team can hit. The Warriors if they have their middle school players playing with them they will be tough. The Boltz will show up to play tough as well and that 11u Team Florida will hit the ball no matter what pitcher they face and depending on how deep the fences are will hit the ball over or if the fences are really deep with their speed will be hitting the balls in the gap and scoring.
Depending on who seeds where for bracket play. The two likely favorites will have their hands full. I personally dont think there is a favorite team. There are teams in this tournament that if any of them play at their top level can win this and that even includes the 11u team.

I usually respect G-man's opinion but I cannot see how an 11u team can compete with some of the elite 12 year old teams. My prediction is that they will be eliminated early Sunday morning. I looked up some of the previous matchups and noticed that MBA had mercy ruled that 11u Team Florida. It seems to me that with the exception of Team Florida and the 2 teams from Miami, those are the same teams which play against each other at least on a monthly basis. I may have to believe what you're saying since you live in Florida and I don't. Sometimes one can make better predictions by just looking at stats and prior matchups than knowing the teams personally. Looked at what happened in College basketball with the Final Four.

It will depend on how the brackets are set after pool play. However I say if they play their best game they can make it to the championship. That 11u team has beat Avalanche more than once and Avalanche has tied MBA. Plus Avalanche has beat Bad Boys who have beat MBA. I know thats A LOT of what if's but that 11u team can hit the ball. Lets just say any of the top Major 12u teams cant throw a waste pitcher against them

I will add something else to what GMan is saying. The 11U team loses a lot of the pressure playing up. The Bandits did it a lot last year and was very successful but going into the tournament it was like no one was expecting anything other than for you play hard and that made it easier for us. We lost each week out but when we dropped back down nothing seemed as hard and not much intimidated us. |

According to the USSSA site, they went 0-3. Perhaps they had a tough draw. They did not get their money's worth!

Tough draw??? They played 2 major teams with low power ratings and a AAA team. Perhaps they should have played in the 11U division. Heard it had pretty good teams.
