I'll take Wills Park Titans to win it all. They looked solid when they beat the Charlotte Megastars this weekend in the SNIT. Are you still smiling coach? :) |

On Milton's own site they call themselves a AAA team....i don't think them winning a few games would be considered an upset Moccs....i think they played down at the SNIT...they are a good team and their head coach a great dude....saw the patriots play at the SNIT and they are a very good first year club....heard they had a barnburner with the Roswell Hornets in bracket play this past weekend with the Hornets winning in extra frames....Moccs--i think anyone of your 4/5 can take the title...don't forget the DDawgs--they won the webb bridge tourney and beat the Hornets and Titans on their way to the 'ship....and the 10U Longhorns i think came in second in this tournament last year....so watch out for them...can't wait to see some great ball this weekend..... |

10u Longhorns take down my Nats 7-5 tonight. Both teams looked sluggish after a long weekend. To be expected. Looking forward to the weekend!

They are the real deal aren't they Andy?? We overlooked them a little last year....Big Mistake, we should have thrown one of our top 3 at them the whole game!! Didn't hurt they had a lefty that picked 2 runners off...By the time they got to the ship' they were out of innings or I think they would have pulled it off. |

S4, highly skilled is the best description I can think of. They made a couple of "Oh my God" plays that were the difference in the game, including one on a 220 foot bomb that I still can't believe the kid caught. |

cnettles - thanks, the first sentence in your post confirms everything I was trying to say when congratulating Andy and the Nationals for winning the AA SNIT. No wonder it was taken the wrong way. Here's the link to the Nationals site that clearly shows them stating they are a AAA team that won the AA SNIT...Again, congratulations but this was exactly the point I was trying to make before. Straight up AAA team, aspiring AAA team or AA team, I guess it depends on the situation you're in at the time and what's convenient. I personally don't care where you choose to play or even where USSSA thinks you should be playing, just don't get defensive with others when your own site says you're a AAA team and it has a nice little team photo that says AAA nationals win AA SNIT. Good luck to everyone who's playing this weekend http://www.miltonnationals.com/Home.html

m72, I think Andy explained himself very well earlier this week, and he didn't sound defensive. He obviously started the season wanting the Nats to be an AAA team and is still aspiring to that level, thus why Nats are probably in this AAA tournament versus hardware chasing somewhere in North GA. If you forgot, here is his candid explanation:
"m72, background for you. We are an aspiring AAA team. We played 8 games prior to this weekend, all against AAA/Major teams. We went 1-6-1. We did not plan to play the SNIT. We scheduled a DH instead. When that fell through at the very last second, we had no choice but to register for the SNIT. By that time the AAA field was full. So, we could have sat at home this weekend or played in the AA division, which is where USSSA chose to place us anyway based on last year's performance. And, based on our on-field performance the first 8 games, we were appropriately slotted in AA. Obviously, we played better this past weekend. Our success this weekend was less about playing AA teams and more about our kids buying in to some things we've been working on. We've worked very hard on our deficiencies, and it just paid off.
The problem we have is we are a classic tweener. Better than most AA teams. Worse than most AAA teams. I can say with 100% conviction that we are not a hardware-chasing team. That we won some this weekend was a bonus. Our coaches and parents are more happy that our boys showed they're a little closer to fulfilling their potential than they are that we now have to find a place to put those plaques."
