Okay this is what I saw again. Team Brick out of Warner Robins won the 14 year old division this past weekend and they are a team I would watch out for this spring. I know from talking to some of the parents they where missing a couple of there boys due to JV/highschool but all the same I saw some good baseball. I am not saying they are as good as the Astros but they might be a team to really watch and give some teams a run for there money this season.

Don't see them listed at East Cobb this weekend. Can't wait to see them play against some top teams.

I see them listed as a 14AAA team. If they are as good as advertised......Matt and Bubba will have them bumped to Major before you know it.

Sadly enough most people rate a team's status based on their ability to complete at the Elite level. Playing in any tournaments when not even one of the top elite teams is competing for most people is an empty victory. But we all forget that there are divisions for a reason. I also have seen the AA team jump up and bite the Elite team for wins here and there. I think I would be correct in saying that everyone here doesn't think any less of the young men and their wins. We would also all would be very wealthy men for everyone that says "watch out for that team". Good luck to the young men of Team Brick and we hope to see you in the big arena having a blast and making new friends, win or lose.

Thank you oldmanmj! Maybe some teams are not listed as Major because there tournaments our few and far between so if they are listed as AAA they can play both AAA and Major( you can play up)! I am so tired of people thinking if you are not an East Cobb player you are not good enough! Maybe the families cant afford to play 2500 or the trip is too long of a drive for practice 2 to 3 times a week. Maybe that is why there kids dont't play there. Just because they do not play doesn't mean that these kids on other teams are not talented. There are alot of boys I have seen play that are just as good as the ECB teams or the RR but because of the drive or money or other things they choose not to put there son's on the team or go to the try outs!

True. But the Astros and RR are very different than many other ECB teams and teams in the atl area. I question if you have seen the Astros or RR play. These teams bring kids from all over the Southeast that are elite players (future draft picks/college prospects), at try outs there were 300+ kids for ECB Astros, and they both are in the hunt for TRUE national titles at the elite 32 (where you have to win a Major Super NIT)..the Astros and RR combined have three-four Team USA players and multiple kids that could have made the trials or main team if they went to the try outs. Therefore, I would say they are better. No major team should EVER play aaa or would.

But, if you want your kid to transcend into an elite ball player (draft-college prospect) then take your kid to where the talent plays, at the top tournaments in the state/nation--East Cobb. Or don't and watch kids pass them up in talent level. Read on..http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1168402/1/index.htm

To NorthGABaseball! Yes of course I know about Hayword and I am not disagreeing that the boys at EC Astros and the Roadrunners have some outstanding player and yes they do fly kids in from Florida( Metor Baseball) and get kids from other states to join there team, and if they can do that and have the funds for that then more power to them. All I am saying is that you do not have to play for and EC Team or a RR team to be good or to get notice. I know of a kid that is a JR at a Gwinnett County high school and he has already been offered a full baseball scholarship to the UGA and he has not ever played for an EC Team or a RR team. If you are good enough you will get noticed either from high school or travel. You asked me if I ever seen them play, I have actually seen both of them play alot and my son has friends on the RR and knows several of those boys on the Astros. Again they may be better then 95 percent of the teams that our out there but AGAIN that does not mean there is not great talent and great teams other then at East Cobb!

Just a quick point of clarification; all the players on the GA Roadrunners (both teams) are local talent from around the Atlanta area.

I think the Astros have one kid from Florida on their team but he won't be playing with them until May and everyone else on the team is from Georgia.
