Heard Stealth has picked up a couple of impact players for 2011, if so, they could be really tough to deal with in this one. Being from down south, they might have a leg up with more practice time and reps. |

Shiloh not entered in this one. The SG Titans are a first year travel team made up of mostly Parkview kids I believe. AA team. |

S4 - I'm pretty sure its not the Georgia/Shiloh team, and is a different team. Funny but my sons old park team now uses the Titans too!
Alot of quality teams, which should make pool play + pitching approach interesting with a 6-inning limit for the tournament.
This should be a good tourney this weekend. Hopefully the weather forecast will hold for nice weather.

Mocs,
EC Titans have a tough draw, going 1-1 will most likely draw an opening game vs either the Braves or Stars who should both finish high. |

Well now that brackets are out it appears a few of my original 8 could be in trouble. Giants and EC Titans have a tough road. Gwinnett I think it will be hard for the Jackhammers as well playing both EC Stars and Stealth. Considering the matchups 6-4-3 should make the cut. The final slot (assuming 8 gold) could go to a 1-1 team most likely hobgood thrashers/EC spartans winner. Or if all else fails let the kids play and wait for the results !! lol |

Playing in a tournament like this one is not easy even for good teams so my hat goes out to those boys, go out and play hard till the end. If they can get thru this schedule, it'll only be easier from here on out.
Good Luck!! |

One shouldn't look at it as the Titans have a tough draw, you should look at like those other teams got a tough draw. |

Any update on the games last night? Judging by the score, the 643/EC Titans game must have been a good one. |

Heard 643 had a come from behind win over the Titans, was it an extra inning affair? Good to see some good pool match ups against major competition.

The Longhorns vs. Germantown game looks to be one of the best pool games. It will be interesting to see if the Giants have better luck than the Rays did hitting the the Longhorns top pitchers. Gwinnett's top 4 look pretty good. It will make for some great Sunday matchups. Good luck to all teams. |

Two things on Germantown, one is their boys chant and cheer/jeer the ENTIRE time the pitcher is in his windup or about to deliver the pitch....Classless IMO, also a player from their team tried to shoulder/elbow one of our players gloves during a tag....I am not the biggest preacher of sportsmanship but this kind of behavior won't be taken nearly as easily in the upcoming years..Other than that they are a strong team who I think will flat out dominate the consolation bracket. |

Longhorns vs Stars in one semi and Braves vs Stealth in the other. Longhorns vs Braves in the ship. All comes down to who has pitching left. |

The chanting was definately annoying. It's fine for 6 year olds, it's embarrassing the coach would allow it. |

WOW, One minute it's okay to call on kids that are committed to other teams in attempt to make your team better for the purpose of being competetive and winning but yet you think Germantowns acts are classless. I'm not saying those acts are exactely classy but your thought process IMO seems a bit contradictory. Seems like someone wants to have their cake and eat it too. Not trying to stir the pot, i'm just saying. |

m72, not sure how you're trying to connect those two together. Chanting like that is bush league, purely and simply. Calling players isn't bush league, as it's not part of the game of play. Depending on how it's done, it could be unethical, but as folks have already stated, there are times when calling other players is legitimate. I think the connective tissue you're trying to imply between those two subjects just isn't there. |

P.S. I want to also say that I am more in the camp of m72 in that I would never try to pry away a kid from another team while in season. That is simply wrong on many levels. There are always exceptions to any rule, so I acknowledge that, but as a general rule I feel it's classless to go after kids mid season, no matter the level at which you play. |

So you are drawing a comparison between calling a family to see if their child wants to play for you to yelling or chanting during a pitchers wind up. WOW is right. If the family is happy where they are they tell the coach that and it is done. In older age groups you chant or yell during a pitchers wind up and the next kid at the plate get's plunked. These two things are not even close to the same. |

SSBuckeye, not really comparing the two because they are both classless. My point is that Spartan4 has been very adamant on the subject of calling kids being okay but then has a problem when it comes to the chanting or a player making an attempt to cause another player to lose the ball from his glove. If there is a comparison, it's that they're all classless acts. I just don't see how you can be okay with one of those but against the other is all. Spartan4 certainly has a right to his own opinion on the two even if they differ. Maybe my explanation wasn't clear enough for some to understand what i meant but i didn't mean to imply that i was comparing them in any way other than they are all classless acts. Two or more different acts don't have to have anything to do with each other to be classless. Bush league or not, what does that have to do with the act itself if it's an unacceptable action. Man i feel like i'm talking in circles now just to try and explain myself. Hope i cleared this up. If not, i don't how else to put it so anyone that sees what i'm saying please help me out. |
