It would be extremely hard to "fall off" when that particular team has the best SS, 2b, Cather and CF in our age group.....I think a team like that should win all their games!!!

Little disapointed no Major teams playing each other in pool play??? Just Major against AAA. With all that talk, I thought they would get to scraping in pool play.

I believe there will be a upset somewhere with all those solid AAA teams!

Betting on you Shiloh!

Go Gwinnett!

Sp Wildcats/ECB Yankees should be a good game. I dont think Shiloh has an easy draw either..Raptors or Bulldogs could surprise them. Looking forward to see how close the WF Dawgs/Longhorns game will be.

Hi All -

Lets try to bring the discussion back, and focus on an important part of the weekend.

Congrats to the Sandy Plains organization for putting on a truly wonderful dedication event for Trooper LeCroy and his family. Former governer Roy Barnes did a great job with his portion of the event, and it was great seeing ALOT of kids from LOTS of different teams out on the field during the ceremony in honor of Trooper LeCroy. Lots of coaches & parents there to support the LeCroy family too.

Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE at the park, had to be stoked when Trooper LeCroy's younger brother on the SP Wildcats went yard in the bottom of the 1st inning after the ceremony.

Kudos to Sandy Plains for a job well done! & Pls take a look at signing the petition for Chad's Law; www.petitiononline.com/spd1243/petition.html

See all at the ballpark over the weekend! Sure glad we got wonderful weather, & GREAT to see all the kids playing games & competing again.

Looks like SP wildcats won this one in a low scoring game. Rays have a Cart Blanche pass to the ship with consecutive shut outs, can't beat them if you can't score runs against them.

Is it me or is the bracket a little different then most??

Looks like there was a little spanking going on! Congratulations Tae... Looked like it might have been a little close with the SP Wildcats. That was the upset I thought might happen.

Now we know who is KING between those two teams!

Congrats to the Longhorns last nite. They hit the ball well, and took advantage of their opportunities. The kid they had on the mound did a good job, & pitched well throwing a bunch of pitches closing out the Sandy Plains game, and going the distance against the Rays.

Mr. Gwinnett - it may be a little early to crown a team after 1st tournament of the spring. Everyone has opinions, and your entitled to yours - but I'm sure we'll see the Longhorns (& all the other Major teams) a bunch as we play out Spring. Lets give {all} the teams a chance to practice, and get some work in over the next month or two to see what each team has before crowning any team.

I too want to echo Tae's sentiments and thank Sandy Plains for hosting a great weekend. Fantastic weather, and it was really great with the focus on Trooper LeCroy and his family.

Our team is also going to honor Trooper LeCroy thru the year by wearing "GSP 744" stickers on our kids batting helmets, and I'd like to encourage other teams to do so to show support of a fallen hero. The Rays look forward to the opportunity to help honor someone like Chad thru our games, tournaments, and travels this spring.

There was multiple games that were excellent games this weekend. I think all 6 teams in the Ultimate division had a shot at the final game.
The West Forsyth/Sandy Plains game was down the wire with each team having an out of the park hit. West Forsyth definately is a much stronger team this year from what I remember. Both teams were well coached and look good for this year.
The Longhorns/Sandy Plains was also a close game, the longhorns only won by 1 run so I think we will see some challengers to the Rays and Longhorns this year from the stronger AAA teams.
The Titans are always a team to be be aware of as they have some great pitching.
So I agree lets not crown anyone just yet as I think you saw 6 excellent teams in the ultimate division this weekend. But the Longhorns did look great as expected.
I watched multiple age groups this weekend and it was an excellent tournament in all age groups, you pulled in some great talent. The benefit on Friday night was a great touch and a great tribute. Good job guys.

No doubt that one tournament doesnt make you the very best. I guess it does give u temporary bragging rights.
I think most knew it would come down to these two teams. I picked them together with the wf dawgs and yankees prior to splains and shiloh entering. Splains will be one of the best in AAA and probably could play major. We are looking forward to playing several of these teams in the slugfest in Cummings. Looks like a great turn out.

C'mon lighten up it's only the first tournament! Either one of those teams could win on any given day or should I say Sunday... I'm sure both teams have awesome boys, parents and great coachs!

Lot of talk on this site before that game, so I thought I might stir it up with some good ol smack talk... Don't take it the wrong way, it's all good!

A lot of baseball still to come......

It was great to back at the ball park this weekend, especially with the weather!! I was encouraged by what I saw from our team, as well as a few others. Honestly the Sandy Plains team played us the hardest..BY FAR...I believe the championship game was 8-2? and our team had scored 3 runs before we recorded our first out...All in all a good weekend, having said that we can sure use some field time without rain or snow to work on our defense...Sandy Plains put on a great tournament and I hope we can go back and play there soon!!

Gwinnett.....I won't rub it in too much....but our home county wasn't represented in the championship game!!! Outlaw 425 had a pretty good prediction after day 1....

Sandy Plains is much more potent on offense, last season they didn't have the pop as they do now. They were always good on defense but can now hang with the improved sticks.

Spartan, Outlaw was spot on, that's for sure.. You are right about Gwinnett county. There is sooooo much talent over here but the problem is it's spread out everywhere. I can say when our boys get to High School they will have a beast team (go Parkview). Across from my sons moms house a boy plays for the Rays. That boys brother plays for Parkview and yes he is very talented. I think he plays on the EC Astros.

Did you get a chance to watch any of the Shiloh game? How did they really look? Rusty or is Major going to be a tough ride? Be honest now, we are a bunch of grown men....lol

Longhorns did a great job in this one. As for the matchup with SPlains, don't under sell the Longhorns they still had the big one coming up next and the Rays were definitely showing they were a force to be taken seriously. SPlains were playing in the "hometown" game with all of the big weekend excitement fueling them. There were some teams which fell into the select division, like the Raptors, which should have been in the ultimate. Some had easier matchups to get their wins. It's still early and teams still need to figure out their stratagies on how to have something left for the last game.
