Just curious as to why so many teams aren't showing their rosters. Is it top secret until the first game of the season??? |

I'm confused about it as well. I see kids from our area on multiple teams (current rosters). Names get entered with a typo, or entered with either the first or middle name etc. Same kid though. Who checks this stuff??
More confusing are the teams that only show 7 or 8 current players. What's up with that? |

you don't have to enter your roster until you go on line to register for a tourney, then you must enter all your players.
USSSA rules state you must enter a players name exactly how it appears on the birth certificate. If its entered wrong, an opposing team can appeal that player, and the game can be forfeited (if the tourney director chooses to follow the rules). Some Coaches purposely enter a players name incorrectly to duck the roster rules, some don't realize there is a rule about it matching the birth cert, and some are typo's. Most are due to lack of knowledge about the rule.
When I saw my son entered twice a couple years ago, I e-mailed the State Director and he combined both history's to clean it up. |

I was talking more about on the teams website. So many teams have password protection on their rosters. For example, one team was showing their roster, then locked it, then showed it, now locked it again. Why is that??? Also, I've heard of coaches/players leaving teams yet they are still on the roster. Shouldn't teams be ready to go/show since tournaments are starting in a couple of weeks? |

My guess is paranoid team coaches. Not like the info can't be found on the USSSA sight. Let the kids see their name on the internet for crying out loud. If there is info not to be shared, say stats, then share that in an email. Too much drama surrounding 13 year olds. |

balk-I couldn't agree with you more!! Way too much drama for 13 year old ball! My son wants to see who is playing where. I guess we will just go to the USSSA website. What is the point of a team website if you are not going to share and be proud of your team? I agree no personal info like stats should be public knowledge, but come on, be proud of the names on the homepage of your teams website! :) |
