Haven't seen the others yet but I've seen the astros dominate @ 14U. Beat some very good 15U and were very competitive @16U this fall. If they're not the best in the nation, I'd like to see who's better. |

Silly exercise but, in the spirit of the holidays and looking beyond 2010--based on roster changes(improvements) and, mostly, pitching and then team speed/power... 1. GA RR 2. Astros 3. Tigers 4. C-dogs 5. toss up--Titans slip on pitching depth |

Well I think we all know who #1 is . The bigger question is where and who are the other top ball clubs . We played the Astros in 15u and no doubt they are solid all the way through !So that said I believe the Astros will be number 1 after that it gets a little tougher .Possibly something like 2.Ga RR (blue)or Team Ga 3 ? 4Titans 5 643 Cougars 6 Chilidogs I believe there have been a lot of changes for this spring season and there may be a lot of people surprised to see who comes out on top .

1. Astros 2. Roadrunners Blue
Several very good teams bunched up after that including 6-4-3 Cougars, Team Georgia, HP Chili Dogs, EC Titans, EC Tigers, Roadrunners Grey. |

Why is it when someone asks who they think the top teams of GA are they always pick teams up north of Atlanta. What about some teams south of Atlanta as in Macon, Warner Robins or Valdosta? |

That is a great question Lefty. If you take a look at the history of most Elite Travel teams, especially over the last 5 or 6 years, the teams from South of Atlanta almost never come and play in the tournaments that the better teams play in consistently. And when they do, they never make it to Sunday. My sons have been on teams that have played the Little League WS teams from Warner Robbins and Columbus, and they couldn't compete either. There are some great players in each of these areas, but they do not seem to be able to compete consistantly at the Elite Level. I don't think I have ever seen a team from Valdosta. |

Part of the reason I suspect is that begining @ 14U the top players from South Georgia and out of State migrate towards ECB and other top teams in the area. |

Responding to Jess - his list is pretty spot on from what I have seen the last two years in tournaments. I would add Cecil Fielder's (yes, the MLB guy) team (forget the name)is pretty stout as well. Watch out for them. I know some of the kids in the Roadrunner program. Loaded. To oldmanmj - look at the list that Jess made up. All N. GA teams. Not to say they are not other goods ones, but this is like SEC - more of the best come to play here. The teams that play in the Little League WS could not sniff the 10+ spot team on the list. Smaller field, shorter pitching/base distance, normally smaller atheletes in Little League/Dizzy Dean/Babe Ruth, etc. It is just "bigger" baseball at this level. Little League is days gone by. |

Well all I know is that there is this team called The Brick out of WR that played at East Cobb this past fall in the BCS Regionals and won. They played against some pretty good teams They had about 4 boys on the team from the LLWS from Warner Robins and this team was nailing the ball and there pitching was also dead on. I can't wait to see how they do this spring against some teams like the Astors and the Roadrunners! |

Lefty, Congrats to the Brick for a great Fall win. Let's see what they have this summer. Most top notch competition is seen during the summer. I know that all of the top teams we have been talking about, did not play in that tournament. Spring is in the air, baseball tryout tomorrow for High School start tomorrow! Here we go. |

Tornados were very good last year, but ultimately untested from a big picture perspective. Do they have all their key playes returning? Are they going to travel a little more to play as many tough teams as possible? That will be the true test. |

Starting end of May early June be down Atlanta way most all if not every weekend. 12 of 13 return did lose 1 key player to the Astros.Still looking for 1 more pitcher maybe. Remember a Tornado is most deadly when you let it sneak up on you, or your not prepared.

The Tornados won't be sneaking up on anybody this year. The player that you guys lost to the Astros was a key player, but I never underestimate the Tornados ability and desire to go get whatever they need to have a successful team. In fact, I happen to know of one very good player you have significant interest in now...I just hope you can't pull him.
Regardless, I'm glad to see you guys playing in some bigger tournaments this year. It will serve your kids well. |

For the record, this is not exactly what I posted. The last line was deleted, however, all I said was that the Tornados should not return to a particular complex in Ringgold. I mentioned it by name, and evidently, that's unacceptable. However, I have seen it named in both a positive and negative light in this forum. I posted that suggestion not as a slam on the park, as it is a nice park. However, the quality of teams there are not close to the Tornados and therefore, the Tornados should not play there.
Geez... |

Does anyone want to respond to any of the practice games/scrimmages that have been played the last couple of weeks? Who is starting to show out and brush off the dust from the winter. |
