Great question! With Cobb schools starting so early there is an interest from our team to finish around the 4th of July. That automaticlly dismisses trying to qualify for the Elite 32 or the AABC Puerto Rico tournament. The Global World Series, the Grand Slam World Series, Ripken and the Triple Crown Summer Nationals are all being considered. There is the Slumpbuster/Omaha/College World Series tournament but it states you could play games up to an hour away from Omaha in the 13U age group. To go all that way and then drive an hour - no thanks. What else is there? I am curious to find out where all these teams will end up.
The Elite 32 or CABA Preferably both. This is where the big boys will be for sure. Make sure to pencil in the TOC at ECB that will be the first real measuring stick of the season to find out where your really at.Second will be the battle in the south. If you don't do good at these venues nothing else matters. If you choose not to go play these events you won't be considered a top tier major team. I look forward to checking back in on 13U forums after these tournaments . I know for sure the fall tournament chatter on this board will slow to a screaching hault. I have never seen 3 pgs ranting and raving over some fall tourney.
The Elite 32 is always a good tournament to judge your team but the others are lacking in quality teams. CABA is a joke, the super NIT is ok but is played way to early and the fields are horrible.
Patent, what team does your son play with? When we play yall I want to know we are playing a "top tier" major team. We have a little rec team that would love to see some of these great players.
Lotta pop we play 14u GA RRs . Come see us play anytime. The 2 final tourneys I mentioned both get premium exposure on TBS. And who did you say your son plays for ?
Patent, I already knew you were a RR...I got people. :) Probably the best 14u team in the nation, Paul does an excellent job with those kids on and off the field. We are playing with the 13u Homeplate team this Fall and next Spring.
