South GA Tazers over the Rays, game goes 7 innings but Tazers win in "electric" fashion! I think the finals will be one of the EC teams vs. the Laurens Lightning.
Personally, I'd love to see Barrett Baseball and Sandy Plains play, those are two evenly matched teams. |

the rules state....
11. No steel cleats in the following age groups: 10u and younger.
so this means metal cleats are allowed.. Is this normal for 11u? Should I look at getting my son a pair?
Someone should tell atpp umps about this. they made an 11u player take them off....stated they have never seen 12u and below use them... |

My money is on East Cobb Outlaws/Longhorns versus Lightning in the championship. Tazers are looking to play major this year so they could surprise a few people. Rays and Barrett not far behind. |

So, what happened here. It looks like most teams got one pool game, one team got 2 pool games and one team got non? How did they seed teams after this?? |

Outlaws won, Barrett played us extremely close in our first game of the day eventually going to the tie breaker format with us winning in extras. Played the Laurens Lightning in the ship, they are a pretty good major team from South Carolina. I have a feeling they were out of pitching when they got to us. It was a good tourney though, Saturday was a disaster with all the rain outs. I personally would have loved to see what the Tazers were all about, hopefully they will get some money back from Triple Crown. |

were the East Cobb Rays in this tournament, I was under the impression they were going to be the top team out of East Cobb after all the additions?
Are the Outlaws that good or do they have a Fall pick up team that has players that will go to their own teams come Spring time?

I don't think anyone was anointing the Rays as the "top team" out of east cobb. imho, Braves are clearly #1 then you have the Rays, Outlaws, Titans & Stars making up the top 5. The Yankees and Raptors are next in line followed by the Nationals, Spartans and Diamondbacks in no particular order.
As far as the Outlaws fall roster, they very well might have a few borrowed kids so who knows. |

Think Tazers were upset about the tournament and "shocked" (pun intended) that they didn't get $ back. I am sure Triple Crown will make it up to them with rebate or something. We haven't played with them yet but heard they are first class organization.Looks like my top picks were right on with the end results. Maybe I should change my name to Middle ga insider.. LOL I think the Outlaws are the real deal but you know it is early in the fall... |

The Tazers pool games vs. Outlaws and SP Wildcats were rained out on Saturday afternoon. They were upset by the Wildcats 7-6 in the first round of bracket play at 9am. |

SP over the Tazers was an upset? I don't think that is an upset, it's not like the Tazers were that well known. Perhaps they have a good team that can compete but who has played them locally to handicap a game??

I felt bad for the Tazers because they only played 1 inning of their first pool game before the rain came. Then, they had to start single elimination on Sunday and got bounced so they came 200 miles one way to play one game. Tony will take care of them so they will be able to come back and show what they have but from what I've seen they are a solid ball team.
Error, we are playing with 90%+ of our own players, there is only 1 kid who is primarily a fall only type. |

What type of team did Laurens Lightning have? |

I agree about the Tazers.....I know it is part of the deal but that team should get some money back or credit towards another TC event. I'm sure Tony will make it right, he usually does.
Laurens was a pretty solid team, they hit the ball well against the Rays in the game before the ship. I think they might have been out of pitching, or they decided to throw a kid that doesn't really gas it up. Either way I thought they were decent and a couple of their parents had said they had some close games with the Charlotte Megastars.?.?
I'm not sure if it was by mistake but one of their coaches kept putting in a .99cent rubber baseball and even though we won I think that took away at least one very solid hit, probably extra bases but it sounded like he hit a sock and it just died in the air. |

They were synthetic leather balls, the same kind you buy from Dicks in a bucket for $29.99. I saw the coach take one out and give it to the ump, we played the first few innings with those balls and neither team could hit the ball more then 75 feet in the air. |

Spartan4 - spot-on on a few items. Rough deal with the Tazers. Know that ya spent a good bit of time at the park on Saturday waiting. I'm sure Tony will work it out with them.
Also agree that Laurens was very solid competitive team. They were able to locate their pitches, and played well in the field. However, one kid was responsible for all 3 of their runs on 2 HRs, and I don't believe they had very many runners on base. Overall a good, well played game by both teams.
Heard about the inexpensive balls in the 'ship. I've got a bucket of balls from from Dick's that I use for BP, or xtra reps for my son in-between practices and games. However, our coach hates 'em & won't even let me take the bucket of balls out of my trunk! |

Does a coach not know that good balls come in a box and not in a bucket? It's not like your out buying fried chicken! |

It's like drinking wine out of a box or with a twist off top. Everyone know a good bottle of wine must be opened with a corkscrew and allowed to breath. |

Yea, I was trying to be nice about it.....We play competitive softball and teams are always trying to put hotter balls or stadium balls in play. I do know that both teams had to hit that particular baseball so it was really no advantage to them, just pointless..... |
