Yeah, there's so much turnover with the ECB teams that it's hard to know who's a major and who's not. We played the Tigers last year, but they're gone now. Played the Yanks, too, but not sure if they move up or not. It goes without saying that ECB will be well represented in the AAA division.
Can someone explain to me this whole division 1 / division 2 thing with Triple Crown? I can't decide which one to register for at Slugfest. Does Division 1 = major and high AAA? |

Yankees and Raptors will be competitive AAA teams, the Titans and Rays will be playing majors imho. With some of last years top AAA teams moving to majors, the parity in the top 20 AAA teams is very good. |

Per triple crown
The Division I class is designed for any team that wants to compete at the highest level. Many D1 teams are made up of the best players in a city or county. This is Triple Crown's most competitive division. (for example, major and upper AAA teams).
Division II is designed for the experienced middle of the pack travel teams (for example, lower AAA and AA teams). This division is designed for teams that are not designed to compete with elite teams. Examples of teams that enter this division include (but are not limited to) teams that have players from a limited geographic area, small town teams, or new teams.
Teams signed up: 11 AND UNDER (DIVISION 1): -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. WILLS PARK TITANS--ALPHARETTA, GA 2. roswell hornets--roswell, ga 3. east cobb titans--marietta, ga 4. east cobb longhorns--marietta, ga 5. sfcb barrett baseball--cumming, ga 6. 7. 8.

I agree, the list above is very informative but leaves out all the East Cobb AAA teams, with them included, and them being Yankees, Titans, Nationals and Longhorns, makes the AAA division extremely strong. |

Grampa Steinbrenner,
To respond to your post, I think people get too hung up on labels such as AA/AAA/Majors, I've been coaching a travel team since 9U and my first team started out "labeled" as a AA ball team because we didn't know if we would be any good. After a successful 9U season, we went up to 10U AAA and this year we have registered as an 11U major team. Regardless of the label, we've consistently played the same top teams year after year so the opponents don't change, just the dynamics or label of your own team. Like Mike said, it's not hard to figure out who people are with by the tone of their post.
The only thing I see changing this year from years past is we will need to travel to find tournaments since so many are geared towards AA/AAA type teams. There is nothing wrong with that since there are so many teams (90%) that fall into that category. Each team makes their own decisions, whether it be the head coach or a major supporter and that's their own deal. We're actually looking forward to some travel so we can get out and play some top teams from TN, NC, AL, SC, FL and other states that we wouldn't normally get to see just playing locally.

We can take 24 teams in each division but could take more if another division that would use the same fields had less teams and didn't need as much field space. |

Will you go gold/silver if you have 16-24 division 1 teams? My team is on the border between the two divisions. Would sleep better if I knew that even if we played up we would still have a chance to play for a title if we get a tough draw in pool play. |

We will split bracket play into Gold and Silver brackets once we reach 16 teams in a division. |
