Sorry boys, been away due to work but wanted to see what teams people thought would be classified as majors next season. In no order, here is what I think it looks like.

1) 643 Cougars
2) Stealth
3) GA Grays
4) Shiloh Titans
5) Gamers Red
6) EC Braves
7) EC Stars
8) EC Rays
9) EC Longhorns
10)EC Titans
11)Knockhouse(??)

Is that all the major teams for next year? If your planning on playing majors, please step up and be heard. Maybe Wills Park, Middle GA, Macon, EC Yankees and a couple of others will play.

Until Knockhouse actually puts a team on the field, I would not list them. Yard Dogs seem to be done since half of their players came over to EC and the Signature Park team needs several more players.

So, the list now becomes 10? That's not enough unless you get several teams from out of state to come and play. Nobody else has stepped up so I guess that's it.

Several teams that are signing up as AAA are going to play a number of Major tournaments so the number should increase. Not much difference between top AAA teams and the major teams.

then I guess the ? Is who are top aaa teams. Sure some aaa teams can compete for a game or 2 but most don't have the depth to last in tournement were they would have to play 5 6 or 7 games especialy triple crown were pitchin limits are tougher

I guess we will have to see once the season starts. I think there are SEVERAL teams that are "AAA" teams that will routinely beat most of the "Major" teams. It is easy to get carried away with a label. The only difference between some of the Major teams and the AAA teams is one coach decided to sign up as a AAA team and another coach decided to sign up as a major team- Nothing more, Nothing Less.

Can I ask if the A's are that good, why are they not in the Majors?

I'd like to hear this one, which AAA team would routinely beat one of these major teams? And if they could, why are they still classified as AAA?

I've heard a couple of teams on that list are getting cold feet when it comes to playing majors, you can tell when they sign up in the spring but my guess is you'll only see 8 of those teams being majors.

Are you talking about the Alpharetta A's? IIRC, they started out as a AA team and got moved up to AAA. They were a decent team but didn't play any TC or open USSSA tournaments last season.

Now, I did see them signed up to play in the battle of the south, the big EC Braves tournament so perhaps they will play a tougher schedule next season.

Chip, sorry but your wrong the difference is most major teams are simply deeper in talent. Bottom line I can't think of 1 aaa team that will beat teams like braves ,bombers, stars routinly.

Braves and Bomberz yes, Stars?? IIRC, they didn't dominate the top AAA teams from last season. I hear they should be tough this year but the Braves and Stealth teams are head and shoulders above the rest.

I think the team that is going to make the biggest impact at the major level this season is the EC Outlaws/Longhorns. I hear they added from the Yard Dogs, Stars, Tigers, and Signature Park. It was only one game and its early but they really thumped the EC Rays at ATPP 15-5. Earlier on, most were touting the Rays as ready to challenge the Braves. JMHO

Oldschool, While that victory was impressive, a little birdie told me the Rays are still looking to add 1-2 major type players to their roster so that's not a complete team just yet. The other thing is, I don't think anyone was touting them to be at the Braves level just yet, many of the top teams have added to their roster so to me, it's more like trying to keep up with the jones.

It'll be interesting to see how this age group will shake out next spring, there are about a half a dozen AAA teams that can easily take out one of the majors teams in a given game. In fact, several already have from last year.

There are some questions regarding some of these teams too, have a few of these teams made enough additions to compete on majors? There are a couple teams who barely won 1 game against another major team. Will a couple of these teams come out and play the top tournaments week in and week out rather then playing smaller local tournaments trying to keep out of site? If not, teams like the Braves and Stealth will have to continue to travel just to find semi competitive tournaments.

We have played mostly around the Gwinnett area and I would put North Gwinnett and Georgia Select as major teams that can compete/win against the teams mentioned on any given day. Shiloh has battled both these teams numerous times, and most of the games were decided by one or two plays. Sig. Park could be in the mix as well depending on where their roster ends up.
