Last year there were 8 10U teams at ECB. Anyone know how many there will be at 10U this year? |

Heard there are only 4 this year with 3 returning from 09-10: Longhorns, Yankees & Titans. Mudcats are the only add and Navigators left. There were postings here about an Astros team, but rumor I heard was this abandoned. Anyone know for sure about 10U teams and Astros specifically?

Someone will need to confirm but I have heard about: Astros, Yankees, Longhorns, Titans, Mudcats and possibly Hurricanes. |

6 teams were represented by coaches at the tryouts this past weekend. Longhorns, Yankees, Mudcats, Titans, Astros, and Hurricanes. Appears for the most part they all got along and played nice. |

Did the EC Hurricanes play at another park last year? or Are the majority of the players from tryouts? Who is the coach?

USSSA list 3 9u Hurricane teams from 2010:
• East Side Hurricanes – Marietta, GA • Georgia Hurricanes – Cumming, GA • Georgia Hurricanes – Smyrna, GA
I believe the team migrating to EC is the Smyrna, GA Georgia Hurricanes.

I think Steel-Will is correct, that the Hurricanes are migrating from Smyrna. I understand they were a Little League All-Star team with several players returning. |

Were any of their players at the tryout or were they asked to stay away like some of the other 10U coaches asked their players to do so? I know some of the other coaches told their teams not to come to tryouts. What's up with that? |

I saw several of their players there as I was surprised that their team colors weren't bright orange & green. |

What about the other teams that instructed their kids not to come? |

I don't know the faces of players from all the teams well enough to know what team was not represented. As was mentioned earlier, coaches from all 6 10u ECB teams were there albeit some didn't seem to be looking very intently. That's always a sign they're pretty satisfied with what they have. I know a number of kids opted to play football that weekend which may be why some teams were not represented or under represented. My son was sandwich between some LHorn players but I don't recall seeing any of the Yankee players but I don't know them by face very well and they could have been right next to me or my son. I didn't see any Yankee uniforms which is always good :) as I think back to the 1960 WS and Bill Maseroskie walk-off WS winning homer...aawwwwhhhhhhh - GO PIRATES GO |

We are a returning team and played as the GA Hurricanes last year. A majority of the team returns but we are looking for 2-3 players to fill a void that was created by one of our players moving to Kentucky. The team is made up primarily of children that played on the 8 year old Smyrna Little league all stars two years ago. We practice mostly in and around the Smyrna area. Our head coach is Al Wardin who played baseball at East Cobb and we have decided to join the East Cobb association this year. If you would like more details please contact me at rigovang25@aol.com. We played about 40 games last years and played tournament in USSSA, Triple Crown and Grand Slam Sports events. We won one tournament out in Monroe that was made up of 16 teams. |
