Here is a revised list, very surprised to see only 1 Gwinnett County teams on that list since it's in their back yard. Did GA Select form two teams this year?
1. EC Outlaws 2. Ga Select 3. Ga Nationals 4. Stealth Baseball 5. SFCB Barrett Baseball |

Georgia Select will have two Spring teams. The fall team is made up of boys from both of those teams. We played them last month, and as usual, they are a solid/strong team.
Shiloh likes playing in Winder since Shannon does a great job with his tourneys, plus it is close to our homes. The problem with this date are the football conflicts. We don't want our 5 football boys to lose any of their football enjoyment by having to play baseball Friday night, again Saturday morning, then dash off to play football that afternoon. Hopefully some of the other Gwinnett teams that have a full fall roster will enter this one. |

Titan, I noticed your team was signed up for the Triple Crown State Tournament in October. Are your football players done with their season then? |

BravesFan,
Yes. The GFL regular season ends the week before the Triple Crown tourney, and my guess is some of our kids won't make the playoffs. |

I received an e-mail from Shannon yesterday on this one. I will have to check with my parents. We have a bunch of kids playing football, so our Saturday roster always looks like a who's who. Plus Winder is a bit far for my parents on the South side for a fall tourney. If we can get 10 commitments for Sunday we will probably play. |

I heard you all were playing a AA tournament in Conyers, is that true? |

We just confirmed last night that we will have enough to play at Conyers. The tournament is only $225 and it's in our backyard and not as far as Monroe and Winder for the South Side kids that play with us. Bottom line is that we are penny pinching this one. The Outlaws and Stealth Bombers pulled out of the Winder tournament so this made sense to us. We were going to play the 12 open but that's in Monroe. We couldn't do the 12AA so we decided to do the 11 open. This one is for the parents. They get a financial and a travel break on this one. Our biggest problem was finding enough players to play on Saturday with our football commitments.
It also looks like football will still be going on the weekend of the Triple Crown Fall State so we may have to pull out of that one if we can't find 3-4 fill ins for the Saturday games. It is what it is. We may soon be relegated to playing the Sunday shoot-outs only. I wanted to play a total of 4 tourneys this fall and this will only be two. I don't plan to play into November with these expensive bats the parents buy so we may only play 2 maybe 3 this fall before shutting down for basketball. |

D'Wayne, It's Oct 1 so we're the Longhorns now! lol We pulled out and decided to travel up to the Super NIT in South Carolina, there will be some very good teams playing up there this weekend. Hopefully we can hold our own against the best teams from the Carolina's and represent!
I really want to see that kid from the grasshoppers that throws 70mph, preferably against another team in the semis. :-)

Tae, when I looked at the rosters he is playing with the Mega Stars now. Trust, me when I say we saw him at nine in the Elite 32 and he was every bit as advertised. He was 68 then on 1st and last pitch. Not to mention the change up was simply filthy when throwing that hard. Talking to Anthony a while back from the Mega Stars he said the kids dad said he may possible be up to 73- 75 or better by this fall. Either way he is fun to watch, plus he brings a huge bat to the table. We really want to face him and depending on where the NC Super NIT is may head up that way instead of TN. If it's in Greenboro/Charlotte, we will be there. Raleigh is too far though. The Mega Stars hit well enough to save him for championship play unfortunately. But, with all that said he can be beaten and has lost games before. Good luck to you guys. We will be on the road a bit too much in the spring so I'm trying to be as cost effect (cheap/frugal) as possible in the fall. My parents need a financial break. Hopefully our fund raisers and sponsorship will work out as I've planned and their costs will be minimal. And, BTW I'll call you guys the Longhorns from here out. Good luck in S.C. represent GA well. |

The big kid from the Megastars pitched quite a bit but I didn't get to see it. While we didn't have the results that we had hoped for, it was a very interesting experience for our team. We lost to the Grasshoppers who won the Super NIT bid after finishing as the 11th seed and having to play 2 extra bracket games.
This is the first time that I've seen teams bat 9 in pool games but like one of parents likes to say, "welcome to major baseball" |

9 or 10 is generally the norm and not the exception, especially in a Super NIT (although it's usually reserved for bracket not pool). IMO 10 gives you more options. But it's just the way it works. Aces are not shelved until the finals unless you are a great hitting team. Some say it's easier to win the Elite 32 than to get there. The Grasshoppers proved that seeding didn't mean that much so hitting 9 in pool seems strange. But to each his own. Strange things happen at these events so don't be too upset about results. Fall baseball is really strange. |

Ga Grays were a fine group of kids and coaches- very gracious winners - enjoyed meeting them on the field Sunday. Just wish we had given them a better game (MC parent)quote: Originally posted by GA Grays

Thanks bb2210. You guys gave us a good game. If not for one inning it could be a different story. You guys have a great team and good group of coaches and parents (which is all we can wish for at this age). Hopefully we will see each other in a few more tournaments this spring. Good luck to you guys. |
