I was looking at the huge list of teams in last year's 9 year old age group, and was trying to figure out how many teams are going to end up at each level for this coming season. I figure that the majority of the 9U teams will stay at AAA, while a small percentage, say 5% - 10% will make the jump to majors. I think the same will hold true for the AA teams, with some of the top AA teams from last year making the jump to AAA. I assume that some of the teams (GA Braves, South Paulding Explosion, ECB Navigators, Oxford Orioles, maybe Mill Creek)that have demonstrated that they are significantly better than the other teams in the AA division will be forced to play at AAA. Ditto For A to AA.
Anyone else have any thoughts on which teams won't have a choice but to move up? What teams are planning to change divisions voluntarily? Which teams will stay put? |

Some teams are making wholesale changes from last year. Do they get rated based on last years performance even though they are rebuilding and unknown what they will be able to do? |

My son plays for the Mill Creek team and I hope that our coach will register us at the AAA level. We are a couple of key players away from being able to compete with the likes of the Longhorns and Yard Dogs. My older son's team made the mistake of registering as a Major team and found that our tournament options were very limited when it came to USSSA. Especially on this side of town where we live. As an AAA team we always have the option of playing up to Major but as a Major team our options are very limited. Tryouts are in August and I will be sure to post the dates and times for anyone interested. |

Not sure about others but ECB Navigators no longer exist. The team's core will play as the JCS Jackhammers at 10U.

If several players return but with different team name, does USSSA typically consider this a new team or treat as prior team? Seems USSSA would treat as a new team with coach possibly classifying as AAA. |

The Longhorns kept 10 players from last year and added 2. The new Astro team will be an entirely new team. The Yankees as well have kept most of their players and added some really good ones so no effect on them as well from the new Astro team. |

Good question. As Bubbasdad mentioned, the SP Xplosion will be having 2 teams this year, and it's likely that neither of them will have the exact same players as last years team. Obviously one of the teams will be AAA, but I wonder if both of them will have to register as AAA because of the success that the single Xplosion team had in USSSA last season. I hadn't really thought about possibility until just now. |
