Which teams are breaking up next year? Are there going to be any teams with new, good players? Also, who will be at the top? This may be a little early to discuss, but give your thoughts. |

88 kids at 643 12U tryouts. East Cobb combining to become even stronger, Team Georgia breaking up and several great players looking for a good home, South Georgia working together to compete harder and my Bandits advertising in the classified for "studs". Nah, It ain't too early to discuss. Something let Papa know what the heck is going on. If you have an extra stud please email me soon. |

Hope this isn't too far off topic, but here goes anyway. Since the "cat is out of the bag" on Team GA, I have to ask this question..."What does it take for your "super" teams to stay together more than one season?" The really strong teams have several studs and sometimes there can be egos to go along with the talent. Sometimes, actually many times I guess, it is probably more of a parent issue/ego that causes most of the problems. So what is the key? Inquiring minds would like to hear from some of you "elite" teams as to how you manage to keep together year after year. You "elite" guys know who you are, so don't be shy! |

Here's how you bake that cake. First you take a great group of kids that are very athletically talented and then you stir in a pinch of humility. In another bowl you assemble a group of baseball minded Coaches and allow each Coach to bring his recipe of baking success to mix with the filling. In a separate bowl you mix a group of parents that will allow the cake to be baked without attempting to change the recipe of success. and last but not least you allow all the ingredients to mix together fully before you bake the cake. This will be a very good recipe that can be used not only to start a team but to keep a good team together. |

In Gwinnett, Forsyth, and North Fulton County's, things will remain mostly stable. So far, 1 Gwinnett and 1 Forsyth teams have dispersed and neither was top 30. I don't care to mention them yet out of respect to those involved, but no high drama, I assure you. Changing out more than 3 players, changing the team name, or changing the Head Coach (1 AA coach change I know of so far) is considered radical in these parts. Most of the change will come from the Southside and East Cobb. Little change in rural Georgia due to lack of players. Their big decision is whether to play up or not.
Teams with new good players? Mostly a re-shuffle in East Cobb and Southern burbs. Some movement from ex-burbs into these 2 groups will occur and a few new faces will pop up. A few more will make the drive to East Cobb at 12U than before. A few players will move up from AA to AAA, AAA to Majors, and Majors to Elites as an increasing number of Dad-coaches retire.

Keep an eye on the Elite Gamers Red for next year. They were a very strong AAA team this year and are poised to improve their team a good bit. Their tryouts are Aug 7th and 8th if anyone is interested. |

I'm keeping a close eye on top 11u AAA teams from this past season. 2 or 3 key pick ups added to an already strong and harmonious group of players, parents, and coaches, and you can get traction fast.
Bandit_Hawk mentions the Elite Gamers Red, but any of the top AAA's can move up in ranks in a blink of the eye. |

I gave up on posting once the season began but decided to come back now that the season is over. bmoser impresses me everything he posts. I think he is dead on about ECB and the surrounding teams in that area. |

Welcome back Rocky! I hope is wasn't a gag order from your sons Coach. I've heard of that going around, and can understand it because during the season, posters have to be very selective with what they post. Anyway, I'm eager to hear all your pent up ideas and opinions.

The only thing I want to know is when does Papa move to the 12U forum officially? |

Any word on how the 400 area teams are shaping up for 2011. Any new teams? Any upgrades with AAA to Major? |

You must all know that I have 6 grandsons and they all play some pretty good ball. With as many as I have I might not have to leave the 11U site for many moons. |

I don't think folks want to talk too much right now about it all, but nobody's standing still.

Well said. Especially the element (ingredient) regarding parents. There's nothing worse that a naive parent with a mouth! |

I think that Moser is right. I believe that this year might be the biggest shake up we have seen since coming from 8U to 9U. I know that the Bandits brain trust has been hard at work making sure that the right moves or non moves are being made. |
