THE STALLIONS ARE MOVING TO SANDY PLAINS FOR 15U
After three successful years at East Cobb, the Stallions have decided to move to Sandy Plains for the 2011 summer baseball season and will become the 15U Sandy Plains Wildcats. The same Stallions brand and operations will remain intact, and will be supplemented with quality paid professional coaching. The team will still compete at the highest level of travel baseball including Perfect Game, playing up vs 16U teams, and other top tournaments held at East Cobb and other venues.
In addition to being an excellent facility 10 minutes from the East Cobb Complex (they are replacing the infield grass this fall), a key reason for the move to Sandy Plains involved field availability. Sandy Plains offers their travel teams multiple days of field time during the week in which practices, games, and even round-robin tournaments can be played. There is also more in-park cooperation and less politics as one of only TWO 15U travel teams at Sandy Plains.
Our goals are:
* To continue to field a team of no more than 15-16 quality players and families committed to playing summer baseball at a high level.
* To choose a team in which the mix of players allows all players to receive quality playing time opportunities.
* To allow players to focus on their long-term positions, but not force them into a position-only situation if they are still interested in getting at bats and field time at another position.
* To prepare players to take their shot at making one of the two elite teams at ECB in the future if that is their long-term goal. Otherwise to have a great time playing baseball where opportunities to be seen by college recruiters and scouts will still be made available based on which tournaments you play in, not what your uniform says.
We will hold a first round of tryouts on either Saturday, August 7 or Sunday, August 8 at Sandy Plains (Harrison Park next to Lassiter High School).

In your email, please provide your son’s playing history, what position(s) he is interested in trying out for, and your contact information. We will provide you confirmation of your tryout request.

TRYOUTS DATES AND TIMES:
Saturday, August 7 - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 8 - 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 11 - 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
All tryouts will be on Field #6 at Sandy Plains. |

Parents & Players:
If you are planning on coming to the Sandy Plains 15U Wildcats tryout this weekend, and have not contacted us, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can send you the Sandy Plains Travel Baseball Registration Form in advance. My email address is sapederson@yahoo.com .
We have over 40 players scheduled during the three tryout dates, so we would like to make sure each date is evenly distributed if possible.
We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend and next Wednesday.
