I need a little help, I was refered to Shane Monahan for hitting lessons, but he no longer works at Sports-a-Rama in Roswell. Can anyone tell me how I can reach him or recommend someone else? My son is 15, and we live in downtown Atlanta, so any where in the metro area would work. Thanks

Give Grand Slam Sports Center a call (770-664-8211) in Johns Creek. I trust all four of their hitting instructors -- Jarrod Schmidt, Donnel Nixon, Doug Livingston, and Aaron Alvarez -- as they have helped my own sons (17 and 14), but many others I have coached and coached against over the last seven years. Also, they work as a team. So while your son may work with one instructor, that instructor will leverage the vast experience of the other three to make sure your son has the best chance of reaching his potential.

My suggestion is to look at an instructor and see if you philosophically buy into the way he approaches hitting. It was probably not fair that I made the above statement. I would say every instructor has people that don't buy into their philosophy. The important thing is to find one that works well for you. Another key is finding one that has a personality that works well with you.
