BA has a free article up about Carnesville, GA native Brent Honeywell. He just pitched in the futures game.

I found this interesting.
"Two area scouts contacted for this story confirmed the story I've heard for years, that the travel-ball culture in Georgia often leads to a win-at-all costs mentality that causes burnout of prep arms in state."

Then later on the article...
"A lot of kids have left their arms at the East Cobb complex," the veteran scout said. "A lot of clubs are wary of Georgia high school pitchers. I go through it every year..."

Hopefully with the new GA pitch count rules this will be less of an issue.

John Manuel has been writing for BA for years. I found it interesting that his concerns over arm abuse on the GA travel ball circuit mirror many of the threads I have read here. The scouts he talked to for the story also expressed the same concerns.
