I was just curious to hear some feed back on all the different age teams who posted on "Team looking for players" section. How many teams added unknown players from the "looking add" compared to players that were picked up from a kid you already new, or a friend of a player, etc..Were most of the players that contacted you just not ready for travel ball, just kinda wanted to see? Were they just
kids other teams didn't want because of parents..you get the idea. Have never heard anybody discuss this about finding a sleeper.

thanks

Stee

Each of the last three years our final roster spot has been filled when I responded to a "Player Looking for a Team" ad. All three were good players.

Whenever we didn't select a player that responded to an ad that we placed, it was usually because they didn't fill a specific need. Most likely because of a lack of pitching experience. Not necessarily because they weren't "ready" for travel ball.

I posted "player looking for team" on this site and another 2 Summers ago, and was called the next day. We've been on that team ever since, so I'd say the ad worked well for both parties...except for them having to take me too along with my son :(

Can you imagine having a Dad on your team who's had 742 opinions about everything youth baseball since his son joined your team?

You might want to add a Daddy disclaimer just to be safe.

I get calls frequently from people moving into the area about how can they find a team. I tell them to look on this site and to post their own post about looking for a team. A lot of times I hear from them or get to know them through normal baseball functions and they tell me that they found a team through the forums.

Also, during the prime "recruiting" period last year the web site was rendering more than 20,000 pages a day and exceeding 2,000 unique visitors per day.

As a dad my kid was invited to and won the usssa world series at age 10 and has always had sucess going to larger tournaments when his team was not playing by posting on sites in the states we have lived
As a coach i have found 1 very good player via this site and tried out several others.

Stan,

I don't know you, but I can say this, about this site. Is way ahead of it's time. For one, you let people speak their mind, but you "never" let it cross the line. It speaks volumes about not only you, but the people that read, comment, and love baseball around here. In all we are a small family of baseball loving folks, who love competition and happend to live in an area surounded by talent. I can say from experience on both sides, we found a team and have since, found some great players looking for teams on NWBA. Where else can you have this much fun, meet such great people, kids, and friends.

thanks for the dedication of this site!!

One of the best moves we made, back at 10U, was found on the "Teams looking for a Player" section. As someone that move in from out of state, it was a great help to find some options.
