We have played big Summer events at Disney, FL's East Coast, FL's Gulf Coast, and Gulf Shores, AL. Its not a Cooperstown Dreams Park year for us...just did that this past Summer. Looking to do something we have not done before with our 10U and 13U teams. Myrtle Beach is a possibility, but as a South GA team, its hard to justify driving all the way to Myrtle Beach when we are much closer to nicer FL beaches. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations. |

The Grand Slam Panama City Beach tourneys are fun and the town has something for everyone. Would not recommend the Orange Beach AL USSSA event for 13u, but 10u might have some fun. |

Had hoped to play Ripken in Gatlinburg but (1) they do not have 13U there and (2) not sure what effect the wildfire will have on the event with some of the resorts/hotels.

You can't go wrong with the week long Grand Slam in Panama City. We did Myrtle one year and the Grand Slam in PcB twice. The families and kids liked PCB much better. |

Grand Slam does a good job running the tournament, but, for the entry/gate fee only having a 4-game minimum, leaves plenty to be desired. Gulf Shores (USSSA) offers 6-game min., for the same (or less) amount.
Some look for best bang for buck (most games for entry fee), while others prefer to go find the best competition, and then there are some that want more of a 'vacation' (with some ball being played). Hence why Omaha isn't as popular with some, because it's not a 'tourist-y' destination-- no beach. |

Grand Slam's biggest down side is the 4 game guarantee...if you are out after only 4 with all the $ and travel it is a huge downer. Get that with PG but the world series? Bummer. TC Myrtle Beach is good with teams from all over and no algae! |

I've been to ripken 11u for the week long. For the money its not enough baseball. Fields are great though and its run great.
Never been to grandslam but I agree 4gg isn't enough for me to travel that far.
For the money the best that I've been to is usssa global ws in orange beach and I am a large hater of USSSA. We went to this twice (9u and 10u) Its not run with the utmost efficiency but you do get a lot of games and the competition if really good.
I wish TC would run a 5gg tourney somewhere in the SE. |

Fine line between enough baseball and baseball/vacation. Love Orange Beach but the utrip scheduling can get crazy especially with weather and you could be playing ball at midnight and back the next day by 9. Still prefer OB over PC(grandslam) Ripken is a fantastic facility but you need to make a run in tourney to get enough baseball based on price. Of course tons to do in Pigeon Forge. Heart of Dixie fields in Memphis are pretty cool but not sure Memphis is a great destination for 10u and 13u. Ft. Meyers and St. Augustine might be possibilities. Savannah? |
