Read an interesting post on another forum, Coach says he always has his post game team meeting behind the dugout where parents can listen

My thoughts:most kids are thinking about what they are going to do after the game anyway, not worried about what they did wrong or right.
If a coach can't say something to the team infront of the parents maybe they shouldn't be saying it at all.

IMHO it really depends on the aga of the kids. I think for ages 11 u and younger, parents should be involved in all comunication with the kids. I do understand however that very often after the game having the parents and friends gathered around creates a lot of distractions. the best option seems to be having them sit on a bench or in the stands and face the coaches with the parents standing in the back and out of the way.

Oh, man, then you have every parent counting how many times little Johnny got called out vs. little Billy. He called out my son for a caught stealing, but not his for not being able to find the strike zone.

I'd just as soon stand off to the side and find out in the car if the coach said anything of note. Actually, I don't usually ask, just let my son offer it up if he wants.

He's coaching my son, not me.

Depends on the age. There comes an age when Mommy and Daddy don't need to be part of the post-game team meeting. Players need to handle that themselves.
