I am not a coach, have never been a coach, and will never be a coach...but I am a parent. As a parent I have been rolling my eyes a lot lately at team names. I would encourage ALL coaches to leave certain words out of their team names.

-Elite
-Premier
-Prospect
-Showcase
-Select
-Exposure
-National (Unless you really are playing all over the nation multiple times)

Or any combination of the above such as "Elite premier prospect showcase team".

And Parents if you see any of these words in the title of the baseball team they are likely not elite, or select or any of the above. The "REAL" elite teams don't call themselves out as Elite, their names are just known.

And while I'm on a role, please don't take the name of an already established Major level team...way too much confusion to see multiple Braves, Astros, Titans ...etc teams.

Anyone else have suggestions of words/phrases to stay away from?

I still remember my son's team playing the "Megastar Elite" at Cooperstown. In their defense, they were a very good 12u team. But five years later, I still laugh to myself about the name.

I think you summed it up. Just state what level they play or intend to play at. "Elite" is so overused these days.

I have an Elite roll of nickels in my pocket too.

Teams should use their own/creative names to avoid any confusion.

I thought you were going to say something like:

DON'T -- there are already too many teams!

If I was starting a new team it would be called: Elite Worldwide Super Power Showcase Top Level Prospects

I prefer bad news bears :-)

I would hate to be on a team that had to say they lost to the bad news bears.

How about when Team Elite Prospects 14u (nope not kidding) lost to 14u Team Court Kangaroo Court Baseball Club out of Florida in the 2016 PG 14U Invitational (Major Division) Apr 22, 2016 - Apr 24, 2016 .

Loosing to a Kangaroo Court?? Really?

That was in the championship, I don't care what a teams name is if they beat me in the championship, better than not making bracket!

I wonder if the BRIGHT orange would be distracting to the other team....but hey if you color coordinate with the Easton BRIGHT orange bats it could look pretty cool!

You already have a 'Chain Gang' team. Maybe they should change their colors to truly represent the image!
