All Year, AAA teams have been beating good major teams. Such as,
Oregon Park Wildcats beating Battlefield Redsox and East Cobb Colt 45's in a state championship.
Hoggood Extreme beating Wills Park Redhawks and East Cobb Colt 45's in the Simply the best World Series.
East Cobb Yankees beat the East Cobb Seminoles and Academy A's in the Forsyth Slugfest.
NYO Drillers beating the South Forsyth Renegades in a tournament.
And many more like that.
How is this happening? |

That's because some "major" teams are not really a major team. They want to call themselves major teams, but in reality they should be classified as AAA.
The major teams in this area are: Jags Roadrunners Stars Longhorns Blazers Braves
The rest should be designated as AAA until they win a few games against better competition. |

This happens at every level and age. Major difference is true major teams have a really good catcher and deeper pitching. On any given day a AAA team throws their ace, they can beat you. |

Colt 45's lost to Hobgood in Simply the Best World Series in their first elimination game, but came back and beat them 8 to 3 in the champoinship that was NEVER in doubt!! Colt 45's do deserve to be a major team. They started off slow this season, but have proven themselves through out the year. As said before, any team at this age can be beat on any given day with the exception of the Jags, they are in a league of their own!! |

Happens all the time in all age groups. Some AAA teams should be major and some major teams are only there so they can say they are major. Issue is with USSSA, you can classify yourself as anything.
The 15u Team Georgia team is a good example. They are ranked #3 in the state by Baseballscoutz.com and #15 in the country by Perfect Game (I don't think they are THAT good, but, they are ranked). Yet they put themselves as a AAA team in USSSA. They really should be a major team. Almost, if not all the guys on the team were major players last year.
This is kind of how the term "elite" team came about. You had those major teams that were clearly better than the other major teams. Most of the USSSA tournaments are open tournaments any way. |

The Jags are clearly #1 but they are 11yr old kids and will drop a game or two. 3 losses to this top group (2 one run losses to the Roadrunners and an 8-0 loss to the Longhorns during the ATL Super NIT)
Roadrunners should be #2 because of their 2 wins versus the Jags but their 3 losses to the Jags were by minimum of 6 runs with two being run ruled.
Stars, Longhorns, Mill Creek, and possibly the Blazers/Stixx round out this top tier.
After that there is a G A P!!!
Braves Seminoles Xtreme Renegades Colt 45's Elite Blue Elite Red
The Jags are about the only team that can be a little off and still pull out a win in this group.

wolf20, I agree with most of what you are saying with the exception of the Longhorns. What have they really done since the Slugfest???? |
