Good luck to the 15 Georgia Teams: 18 East Cobb Braves (GA) 3 0 35 Windward Rangers (GA) 2 1 37 Hopewell Warriors (GA) 2 1 44 Sawnee Mountain Thunder (GA) 1 1 49 Forsyth Outlaws (GA) 1 1 58 6-4-3 DP Cougars (GA) 1 1 71 Dunwoody Pirates (GA) 0 2 79 McDonough Astros (GA) 1 2 80 Rome Elite (GA) 1 2 81 Forsyth Longhorns (GA) 0 2 83 Lumpkin County Indians (GA) 0 2 88 Georgia Redhawks (GA) 0 2 90 Johns Creek Jaguars (GA) 0 2 97 Hobgood Knights (GA) 0 3 98 Sandy Plains Prowlers (GA) 0 3
Because of 102 teams, Bracket starts 10:00 AM Wednesday Morning, so only 6 pool games. Teams ranked 1-14 get a "bye" to 8:00 PM Wednesday night (round of 32).
What a change since I was first there in 1997, 34 teams and 6 fields.

D'Backs are tough. Gotta play 'em though. Wonder if the Meteors brought that 14 yr. old right fielder.

#2 seed, DiamondBacks downed by the 34th seed Lakewood Ranch Longhorns.
Braves are in the sweet sixteen, playing Tampa Heat at 8:30am Thursday. Braves beat them in pool play.
Go East Cobb. |

Diamondback baseball #2 lost to a 34 seed 1-0. I guess someone was looking past their current opponent. |

Meteors end Braves outstanding run.
Tamiami beats the Meteors for the Championship.
102 teams again this week. 6 pool games each of the first two weeks. We got 7 last year. Inflation? |

wildcats, Last year, only some of the teams would get a 7th game and they would play that on Wednesday morning, then start the bracket play on Wednesday afternoon. My guess is that Lou and the other "powers that be" at CDP decided to forego the Wednesday morning pool play games to allow more time for the bracket play. With the amount of rain they get up there (especially in June), I think that's probably a smart idea. We went with the 10's last year and they ended up having to delay the closing ceremony for a brief period because there were still games going on. As a matter of fact, the 10 year old East Cobb Astros (this year's 11U EC Stars) lost in the final 4 to the Miami Playmakers in an extra-inning game that Lou (the founder of Cooperstown Dream Park) called "the best baseball game I've ever seen played in person". |

Bottom line in the Meteors vs Braves game, they hit and we didn't. Left 10 or 12 stranded and could not move them. I think they hit 4 dingers, only 1 was more than solo. Good team and frankly, I think we got distracted and lacked focus, they had quite the throng of organized cheering fans and we could never shut em up with plays or big hits. Great game, as it was close thru 4 innings. 3rd outta 102 isn't too shabby, best of luck to the balance of Georgia teams who take their rostered kids up to C-Town and try to win it. |

Chiefs and ECB Longhorns are getting ready to play in the Elite 8. 12:00 noon game and I see a tractor on the infield, so they are obviously having weather issues.
Georgia had 6 of the Top 30 seeds.
4 Florida teams and 2 each from NC and GA in the Elite 8. |

Chiefs fall in final. Makes me wonder how they would have done with the 3 Florida Fire kids on their roster? |

What does that mean?
Looking at their USSSA rosters one boy started out with the Florida Fire but moved to the Chiefs. He pitched for the Chiefs in the final game. I see anybody that moved in the other direction. Of course, that's USSSA.
They couldn't have done much better than they did.
Florida Fire has 34 kids on their USSSA roster and one of them has been on 5 different teams this year.
Not sure what all these folks are in 12YO baseball for, but it's obviously something different than what my son and his teammates are doing. They didn't make it to Thursday, but couldn't have had much more fun and were even talking about it last night at practice 1 year later. The Florida Fire kids may or may not be still playing together when they are playing for the 13YO World Championship next year. |

The Chiefs brought their "Georgia only" team to Cooperstown and came in 2nd place? Kudos to them. |

Not sure exactly what you are trying to say???? The Florida kids and Georgia kids ( metro Atlanta & North Ga. ) have been on this roster all year. No late additions, no kids swapped out for other players etc., just the original team from the beginning of the year.
These kids had an absolute blast at Cooperstown as well as the other tournaments they have played in throughout the year. |

Chiefs played awesome all week and I can tell you from walking through the village of Cooperstown NY made Georgia proud. Until the rains came they were on track to make a run at the all time home run record for Cooperstown but as all of us baseball players know the further you advance the better the pitching gets and fewer home runs hit. The Chiefs were the talk of the town for awhile but came up short. Papa was proud of these kids and yes that is still what they are is kids. They played their hearts out this week and deserve much credit for what they achieved. They lost the championship game to what I consider to one of the better teams in the entire Nation so they should be very proud of what they accomplished. |

That wasn't an "All Georgia" Chiefs "team" that went to Cooperstown. |
