Jordan Wilson is a member of the 12 year old travel team Kennesaw Mustangs of Adams Park, coached by Tom Clark. Jordan has played for KBA since he was 5 years old. His older brother Jamerson also played for KBA age 7-15, now at KMHS. Jordan is also a 6th grader at McClure Middle School and plays football for the Allatoona Bucs in the fall. Jordan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T-cell on February 4, 2009. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a cancer of the white blood cells, the cells in the body that normally fight infections. We have been undergoing our treatments at Scottish Rite in Atlanta and will continue for 3 years and 2 months. Part of this treatment is dependant on blood donations. Jordan has had numerous transfusions for both platelets and blood, sometimes weekly. We could really use your help by donating blood during this blood drive for the City of Kennesaw. Does it matter what blood type you are..... it does not, there are so many kids and adults that need this blood that everyone will benefit from your gift. Thank you for taking the time and making a difference in someone else’s life.
The American Red Cross Southern Region and the City of Kennesaw are hosting a Community Blood Drive next TUESDAY, MAY 19 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Ben Robertson Community Center. Most healthy people who are at least 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds or more are eligible to donate blood every 56 days.
Schedule an appointment online at ef="http://www.kennesaw-ga.gov/giveblood">www.kennesaw-ga.gov/giveblood, or call (770) 422-9714.Walk-ins are also welcome.
All presenting donors will receive a special gift from the American Red Cross and will be entered in a regional promotion to win a cruise for two.
