WOW this is a loaded tournament. The only thing missing are the Bandits. By the rankings on this board 9 of the top 10 teams will be at this tournament. Plus the Southern Dodgers and Mac N Seitz .Anyone willing to predict a winner? A finally four?
I will take Sandtown, Stixx, Grip, and 643DP. Depending on how the brackets come up.
If we where not playing this weekend I would come watch this tournament. |

I think it will be a repeat of the last 2 tournaments that didn't have the Bandits.
Final prediction is either; Sandtown vs. 643 or Sandtown vs. Grip. |

I will go off the beaten path somewhat and pick Kennesaw to win in a close game against Sandtown. Stixx to be right there and I am predicting a team no one thinks will win to be in the top 4. Who it is, I dont know. Someone will play over their heads this weekend. Big Question will be, how good will the Scorpians draw be in pool play? I think their luck runs out in this one and they get a tough pool. |

If the Stixx brings their regular travel team I don't feel that they will be strong enough to win with this many teams due to pitching. But that is just what I think. I think Kennesaw has deep pitching and know that Sandtown can pitch and feel that 643's defense will keep them close to the top. Should be a good one. In the famous words of Arnold "THE TERMINATOR" The Bandits will be "BACK" and it should be soon. |

31 teams in the 10U bracket this weekend! That is unbelieveable! I dare say this is what makes GA 10U baseball the cream of the crop. What other state has that many teams competing in a tournament that is not advertised as a national championship or a world series? Does anyone know anything about the 2 out of state teams? (MO & AL) I suggest they bring their A game to this one as the only top GA team not in the tournament is the Bandits which is a shame since you have the other big boys coming to play. (Sandtown, Homeplate, Holly Springs, Stixx, Grip, 643 & Kennesaw) Going to be a good one! |

baseballpapa why is that you never seem to give the stixx the same kind of credit that you give other top teams like sandtown and 643dp? I have noticed a trend in the way you talk about stixx. Nothing disrespectful or arrogant you just never seem to say anything positive about them. I have alot of respect for you and what you have helped the Bandits become but Stixx baseball is one of the two best teams I have seen play( Georgia Teams), with your team being the other. They are the best team my little team has ever played. Better than 643dp, holly springs express, Southern Dodgers, East Cobb Scorpions, East Cobb Longhorns, or Tennessee Bulldogs. You could be very well right about Stixx not having enough pitching but going into this tournament I think Stixx is the best team there. Hopefully the day will come when the Bandits and Stixx can meet up in a game and we can see what happens in round three.

How many of these teams have 10 quality pitchers, and a few that are downright nasty? I know of one! Oh, and this team has 6 boys who have gone yard this season. They're my pick. Kennesaw 2nd.

I have the utmost respect for the Stixx and did not mean to show any disrespect. I just think without the Bay Bombers kid that they have had when we played them that they are not deep enough in their pitching to win a 31 team tournament but then again that it just my thoughts. I don't believe that 643 has better pitching than the Stixx I just believe that the 643 defense can keep them in games when the pitching is not there and I am not sure the Stixx can do this. No one has played the Atlanta teams more than the Bandits and I feel that Kennesaw has the deepest pitching rotation for this type tournament but I don't know if their hitting will be consistent enough to pull them through. If this was a 16 team tournament I would give the Stixx a better chance. We have been there, done what you will be doing this weekend and know that this format is going to tough on all who do not have a deep pitching staff.
If the tournament had 16 teams I would think the Stixx would have a very good shot at the title. I do feel that the Ga. Grip can win any one or two games they choose to win and the Stixx should hope that the Grip doesn't choose to throw their stud against them.
Truth is this is going to be a war so suit up with your armor and let's get in on. Good Luck and Sorry that we won't be there but the Bandits are in the recovery room and will get well soon and get back into the mix. |

Titan 1: What is the name of your team and have the Bandits ever played you. Are you from North, South, or Middle Georgia and where do you play most of your tournaments. As you know the Bandits are from extreme North Georgia which allows us easy access to all of the Atlanta tournaments and also to the large Alabama and Tennessee tournaments. Our location serves us well in that we have been able to face many great teams from 3 different states and that is one of the things that keeps us sharp. We try not to stay in either of these 3 states consistently which makes it harder for the good teams to get a fix on our pitching and hitting.
Do you play the Stixx often and if so how do you fare with them. Since you know of the Stixx do you also play the Bay Bombers from Panama City. We just played them again in Alabama beating them 7-2. I didn't mean to minimize anything the Stixx have done but We have only played them a couple of times and one of the games was during the football season that we just took off the football gear and came down and played so I know very little about the Stixx. It seems obvious that you feel they have a great team but I have only seen them a few times and I don't have enough information yet for me to consider them a factor although they very well may be.
Tournaments like the Triple Crown has a way of seeing the cream rise to the top and also challenges even the greatest of teams. This week will tell a lot about Georgia Baseball so you Georgia boys make sure that you protect our house. Good Luck |

Papa, the only time the Grip played the Stixx, they lit up our best pitching for 8 runs. They are a very good hitting team. Hopefully, we will fare better this time if we play them. They have earned our respect and we will give them our best.

I didn't know the Stixx beat the Grip like this with their good pitching going. I still feel like the Grip can win any one or two games they choose. Papa is just going to have to get out more and check up on you boys so that when I get asked these questions I can respond more like Mr. Moser. Moser answers with precise stats and pinpoint accuracy and Papa answers with instincts and gut feelings and I will even admit that I am may show a little (but very little) prejudice with my Bandits. |

baseballpapa: My team is the Georgia Titans and we are from Middle Georgia. We have only played the Stixx once and they whipped us.I have seen them play at least a half dozen times and they are the most athletic team we have played or that I have seen. They are also the best hitting team that I have seen. Those kids love to play baseball and play it very well.We have never played the Bay Bombers or been in a tournament with them. The cream will definately rise. This should be a great tournament and after it is over we should be able to say we clearly see who is #2,#3,and #4 in the state behind the bandits. The Stixx have had injuries this season and from what I understand they are now healthy.

Once the Bandits get healthy we hope to see you. We plan on defending all the State Championships that we can. I understand that the Cooperstown trip might keep us from defending one or more of the States but most of our eggs are in the Cooperstown basket this year.
Thanks for the kind words about my Bandits but we are not much different than the other teams. If you watch us it is clear we have some great pitching but it takes a real baseball eye to see the real strength and that is the defense these kids play.
We look forward to seeing you and I hope that it will be soon and good luck. If you read my posts you will know that I don't predict much but I will predict that whoever wins the tournament this week will feel very good about themselves and the team and for good reason. |

Tital1, Have you ever seen the Sandtown Red Sox play, They have only played the Bandits once(Last Year), Bandits won 10-9 in 3 extra innings, Most of the post I read seem not to want to talk about the Red Sox, But They are truly one of the best teams in the Region, Pitching is deep, Can hit with anybody, Defense is the way they play and Speed is something we don't want to talk about. I watch the Bombers from AL. hit the Stixx best pitcher with no problem, Stixx won the game but it was no cake walk, I just think some of the teams need to humble themselves just a little bit, Don't get me wrong their are some good teams out their, Stixx, 643 DP, Ken Express, Homeplate and I could go on and on, But no team can live off 1 or 2 pitchers hoping to get to the finals in any tournament. If we really want to see the best team in the state we need to have a Double elimation tournament, Invite only of the top 10 teams in the State, and then we can get an idea of who's the best. I know PaPa would love to see this, He just love competetion. Unless we can play it on the field, There is nothing else to talk about. |

Yes I have seen Sandtown play. I stood in the middle and watched Bandits play Mizuno Glory and Sandtown play TPSA Bandits on the other. Sandtown was winning until late. I am not sure Stixx had their best pitcher on the mound but I will take your word for it. That is the same Bombers team ya'll beat by a run, right? To bad ya'll never got to play. If you are interested I am sure I can put on a 10 and under travel tournament in Monroe County for the last weekend in July. Double elimination 16 teams. Let me know I will start planning.BTW, after talking your team up you say that some of these teams need to humble themselves, come on. Let me know would Sandtown play in the tournament? Stixx? 643DP? BAndits?Grip? I know all of these coaches are on here. Would ya'll be interested in this tournament?
Top 16 teams Sandtown Bandits Stixx Grip 643DP Kennesaw East Cobb Scorpions East Cobb Tigers HP Chili Dogs Red HP Chili Dogs Black Southern Dodgers Holly Springs Express Wills Park Yellow Jackets Georgia Yard Dogs Black West Georgia Bandits Midway Dirty Dawgs
If you coach one of these teams let me know. We can draw out of hat for pool's and play three pool games each for a five game minimum.Four pools of four teams.Get ya'll way from Atlanta so no one close to the tournament has a dog in the fight.Nothing but top teams. NO easy games |

The main reason Papa gives Sandtown so much credit and respect is due to what Sox wrote. They are not interested in trophy hunting and are not afraid to play the very best the game can throw at them. The game the Bandits played against them last year had to be one the best games of the entire year. Believe me when I tell you that this team can play baseball and they are not afraid to mix it up with anyone. Sox is also right that most of these tournaments are set up to make money and not to find the real champion. A double elimination tournament with only the 10 best teams would be some of the best baseball that anyone in Georgia would want to see. I say this, lets take the Georgia 10U rankings set up by Stan Lewis and set up an invitational at a time that all of the top 10 could play and do a double elimination. I don't know if we would win but I promise you that we would play and also promise you that win or lose we would be better just for the experience. Good luck this week to my friends the Sandtown Red Sox. |

Winner of this tournament plays best out of 3 game versus bandits on a weekday. We all call in sic at work, Rent ATPP, free admission, but every spectator donates one dollar for field rental. The next week we the nwga forum voters pick 2 of the best players from all the 10U travel teams in GA and they play an allstar game and wear their uniforms from their respective team. that would be fun! |

By looking at the pools for the weekend. It looks like the top talent is spread out so it should really make for a very competitive gold bracket. Sunday @ ATTP may be standing room only! |

I will setup the tournament for the last week in July. Let me know if the Bandits can play in it. Double Elimination. We can pick a list of the top 16 teams and if one of them doesn't make it we can select someone else to feel in that spot. The only way we can have this tournament is if we go ahead and set a date and just commit to it.I am ready. I will not make any money off of the tournament I just want all the expenses paid.Only a 10 year old tournament invitational only.

Tournament is a great idea, but who polices the rosters in order to keep each team from loading up for this one tournament. Just like the past and again this weekend, teams will be adding players from other teams. The only way to give proper credit to the teams that get better with good coaching, hard work, and upgrading from season to season is to stop teams from adding players as needed that tip the scale in their favor. |

I will check with Coach Troy and advise how the Bandits schedule plays out. Now guys this is what baseball should be and that is laying it on the line against the best there is and let the kids decide who is the best. |
