Whitlow,
Work backwards.
At 14U, they need to be using a -3 full-time.

13U they should be using no lower than a -5. (Can keep a -8/8.5 in the bag just in case they run into a pitcher that is throwing in the 80's)

12U I would not swing anything lighter than a -8/-8.5.


This is just my rule of thumb. Of course the actual course is specific to the individual.

The blue Dynasty was one of my favorites as well. The Exo is as close as I have found. My son had a white one (-8.5), a red one (-8.5), and black one (-5) and they all have still held up like the blue dynasty did.

I missed the opportunity to buy a -5 Blue Dynasty a couple years ago and kick myself for it. He has a tan/green -5 Dynasty but I don't think it was as good as the blue one.
