from what i saw last weekend there are 2 competitive major east cobb teams. the astro's and the combat. i'm guessing the stallions are going to be tough this year too.

It's so hard to tell right now with players in football. I would say those three will definately have strong teams.

No way to judge anything solid by a fall tournament.

Its not a full competitive field , too many of the best players not even playing baseball on any team.

Some of the best teams arent yet fully formed or playing fall.

I have seen many times over a team form then play well in the fall but become average at best at the same playing level in spring and summer.

You are right, Coach Dan. I would expect the Longhorns, and possibly the Braves to want to get into the mix as well. Who knows which teams will look differently in the spring, not to mention which kids will have growth spurts over the winter.

WaltDem,

Have to agree with you! I have been seeing some of what you mentioned so far this fall (regarding the learning/teaching time)from my boy's coaches and it's been refreshing! Good to see and it's also good to see when a light really comes on for a kid regarding a certain aspect of the game, talented as they may be. Often times it is an assumption that these kids should or do know it all due to their repetition of play day in and day out. Doing it often doesn't necessarily mean doing it "correctly". Fall is a great time for just that! Throw some games in the mix and it's a winning combination.
