My 11 year old just started playing Travel ball. He was using a Stealth and he just didn't seem to get any pop on the ball. He's now switched to TPX Catalyst (same length and weight) and his is hitting the ball better. Any expert opinions out there on the Stealth?

I hate them (Stelths). I have gone on record on here about it many times. They are great for the big strong player, but I just don't like the results on the mid sized and smaller players.

Which one does he swing?

My 12U 130lb son has been swinging the 2008 -5(purple barrel/orange handle) for about a year now and he loves it. He really has been launching some bombs with it too. It does take quite a while to get broken in though and a it's not for everyone.

Also, we are on our second bat because the first one cracked and chunked but easton did send a replacement. My son hits about 300 balls a week so I definitely think we got our monies worth.

We used a Stealth for several years the tried the Catalyst. My older hated the Catalyst -- the younger loved it and batted almost .500 with it. We are now sold on the Dimarini CF3 -8 or Voodoo -5. Will stay with Dimarini when we move to -3. I believe they are the best bat on the market and I have not seen one break in several years of use.

I'm sure those boys @ UGA use them for a reason besides sponsorship.

I thought UGA was using the Nike bats. (They look kinda like Demaranis ... )

Was told UGA wasn't crazy about the Nikes, but don't know if that's true.

Very true.......Nike's football contract severely hurt the baseball program in the College World Series. Not to change the topic but if everyone used wood we wouldn't have these discussions on "hot" bats.

Easton makes Stealth Comp and Stealth CNT models - believe both in regular flex and stiff flex. My son has been using a regular flex CNT for 4 years and has had great success.

Easton recently came out with 4 new -3 models: STEALTH IMX BCN9, SYNERGY IMX BZN1, SV12 BSV1, and V12 BV1. They differ in flex rating, swing weight, etc. The SV12 BSV1 has the most flex. I just got one for my son and he's been killing the ball. All four of these bat are sweet (not sure if they have them for the younger guys).

Greg and I've gone round and round on stealth bats for what seems like years. He hates them,my son (who's not a "big kid") loves them. You read the post and so and so's son loves this model/brand bat and someone else's son loves another. It seems like the common denomenator in what "bat is best" is what particular bat your son loves/has confidance in. I truly think the 99.9% of the factors that determines whether or not a ball player is a good hitter, are other factors than what particular bat he has in his hand. The bat your son believes in, for whatever reason, is the best bat for him...You can't buy game.

MY son Loves the Stealth, He is a pretty big boy(5ft 107), he will be 10 this month. At a recent batting practice, he hit a ball over the scoreboard and over the fence behind the fence at the 9/10u field at East Cobb(I think it is 229ft down the line.. It was a blast. The only problem was the bat cracked a week later. My point is when that bat is aged it is a beast. Also, we went through 2 in a season. We purchased the new blue stealth and he has hit the wall but it is not exploding off the bat like the old orange bat. We will keep you informed as it ages.

The stealth definitely takes a little time to break-in. You definitely know when it's broken-in because the sound of the bat changes a little and the ball just explodes off of it.
