Who are the teams? Any website links for the new teams? Who are the coaches for each team? What is the minimum roster size for each team? |

How does the draft process work at East Cobb? Astros fill their team first, then Stallions then who? What is the pecking order for the remaining teams? What determines this seniority? Level if play-major vs AAA? |

It's my understanding the Chargers from last year are still the Chargers this year - some returning players, some of the same coaches. |

Dr,
I think Combat will make the jump to major.
This is why, There were 38 kids who played on the Three ECB 12U major teams last year (ofcourse one the Astros are still playing). Of those I only know of about half a dozen players who have already committed to other parks.
That leaves around 30 major kids returning in addition there will be a number of strong kids coming from other parks as well as some strong AAA players from last year ECB teams. If there are not at least 3 major teams ECB will lose some very good players to other programs.

Chief, I think your list of Astros, Stallions, and Combat is right if Combat can get some players that will move them to the Major level. Otherwise they will be in the AAA group as well. Nothing wrong with that. There were a lot of teams that called themselves Major that were not. Except for the ego part, you are better off starting at AAA and if you have a successful early part of the season, then move up to play more Major tournaments.
Just like this past year, there will be a lot of good competition around.
you never know until the teams are created and games are played.
last year neither the Combat or 12U Astros were major level teams though one of them claimed so , as you allude to. |

It is my understanding that former Chargers coach Will Melson and former Tigers coach Dwight Schmidt have formed the ECB braves. Not sure about the Shamrocks, but the rest of the list looks accurate (to the rumors I have heard). I guess we will know after the dust settles on Sunday. |

I think the confusion may lie in that one of the Chargers coaches from last year is now a coach for the Braves, and the head coach and other two coaches from the Chargers from last year are remaining as coaches for the Chargers team this year. Does this help?? |

Scotsar, You are right. They could all end up AAA, all end up Major, or something in between. |

Hey scotsar what did the Astros do to you that you have hated them all year?
If they are THAT BAD why are the majority of kids, not wanted last year, getting plenty of calls this year?

This is the 13U ECB world as I know it...hopefully not too much fantasy. Please note that I've excluded the emotes.
Major Teams
Astros - The second year for this coaching staff at ECB. Last year they were dominating. Some rumors this year indicate they won't be as strong; however, common sense indicates they'll be very close if not the same. Once you get to 13's you just can't discount the importance of the name and I've heard the coaching staff is quite proficient.
Stallions - They're chasing the brass ring every year and have come up short mainly because of the Vipers and a few others. Very likely that'll continue this year barring any major changes. Coaching staff has a slight change or two; roster is likely to see some changes. They should remain quite strong nonetheless coming off a runner up finish at Cooperstown.
Major Teams formerly AAA's (kindly consider the likely reclassifications before commenting on the wisdom of these moves to major)
Combat - They were a very strong AAA team last year. The coaching staff has remained a constant and with only 5 returning players and not knowing who those are, it's likely they'll see incremental improvement. So, I would expect Combat to see the same success as they saw last season. They're going to need about 5 from the tryouts which might be problematic.
Warriors - Everything that you can say about Combat you can repeat for the Warriors with the exception of having a few more returning players. They'll compete at major next year for the first time. They've played nearly all of the AAA's that are being reclass'd to major. So, I'd expect them to remain competitive at major following a sweet 16 finish at Cooperstown.
Longhorns - Not to be confused with last seasons horns; they'll be comprised of a few of last years Tigers with several new acquisitions from the tryouts. They're led by a paid coach this year and managed by last seasons Tigers mgr (Dave Schmit not to be confused with Dwight Schmit nor Will Melson). They're likely to be very competitive with the lower majors but might struggle a bit due to the number of players that they're going to need to pick up. Expect them to need 5 or more from the tryouts.
Braves - Ditto here for the Braves. Including the paid coaches and Tigers players parts. They'll be managed by the former Tiger asst mgr and Chargers asst mgr. Again they're likely to struggle more against the other majors because of the need for players. I'm assuming that they'll need about 5 or more; the likelihood of error on the number is high though. Another noteworthy item is their plan to go to Ripken next year. Should be fun.
AAA Teams
Shamrocks - I'm going to profess a little ignorance here. While they were'nt as competitive last season as I thought they'd be; I was thinking that they'd be very strong. They were still quite competitive. Heard talk about paying a coach; others may know more about this. They were very competent at AAA and I think they're going to stay AAA this next year. Because of the change in the Major landscape I'd expect them to be competitive against some majors as well. Their team and staff are basically the same this year. I'd expect them to need 1 or 2.
Chargers - I think that these guys are going to be very similar to the Shamrocks; competitively speaking. They won't have paid coaches. At least I don't think they will. I just don't know how many players they're looking for. I thought I heard 5 returning but don't put much into that. The staff is basically the same but they need to pick up quite a few players; likely 5 or more.

to answer objections.
we dont hate any team including the Astros no connect with them personal or otherwise.
no smoking guns .
just our opinions that come from watching teams .
still maintain nobody knows anything until the teams are formed and the games begin.
from there we exit the conversation.

Any chance there will be any more than 8 13U teams listed at the tryouts ? |

Couple of "things" I've heard: - Esposito is not coaching the Shamrocks - Warriors are losing a lot of players - Stallions will know who they want before the weekend. They saw some studs last night at their try out with the Hornetts. - Combat will be strong

Interesting remark in Leroy's post regarding the Stallions as I thought it was a BIG no no to have a "tryout" before this weekend? |

They were strong last year every time I saw them. They may have started slow, but late they were playing, especially hitting, pretty well. |

Don't know if EC teams were asked to not do try-outs, just not at EC fields. The email that went out wasn't super clear on that issue. I have no idea how they are going to sort out players after this weekend. |
