They made it to the Sweet 16 before losing to the 3 seed. Heady stuff!

Is that the last GA teams?

I wonder how many teams go to the later weeks? I guess they are from areas that go back to achool later.

Dont leave out the Buford Wolves who went 7-2, and ranked 21.

No disrespect intended here for our GA 12 y.o.players.

BUT: This was arguably the weakest field of the summer , no TBS ranked or honorable mention teams no nationally ranked teams.

That is usual for the late weeks of Cooperstown because quite frankly all the southern teams have concluded their seasons.

Saw same 3 years ago with ours , just the way it works.

How do teams manage to go that last week which is supposed to be most competitive week. Do the winners of the previous weeks actually go back up there or was this week intended to try to designate a week for harder competition to attend? If it is the latter, then they put it too late in the season for the southern teams, the kids are already back in school.

NATC is by invitation only. I have been called the last two years and asked to go, and both times have said no because I can't see players miising a full week of school. (Plus it is so late in the year)

I seem to remember the Wildcats did very well too. They hit their stride going into the state tournament. The Warriors didn't hit theirs until arriving in cooperstown.

I thought that the teams were very similar to the talent that we've been seeing all year. From the very best to the very worst. There was only one team that we faced that I thought was out of their league. The others very VERY competitive. We even went down several times but the bats just lit up. Line drives that hit the wall on a rope, line drive home runs that were still going up as they topped the wall. Going into bracket play our top ten batters were all hitting above .350 and half were over .500. with only a one or two players managing to not take it to the wall or over. With bats that hot it's not surprising that they made it thursday.

The kids were just so pumped up because the ECB Warrior pins were in such high demand because of the hype from the Stallions going to the finals earlier. Everyone thought they were a top seed so they played like it. Truth be told the one loss in pool (not discounting the Plum Mustands who were very good) was due to a pitcher throwing the ball rougly 30mph; nothing but breaking balls. The kids were so far out in front of every pitch.

Glad we could help you on the pin trading. Nothing like having a hot commodity to trade.
