Interesting stuff and baseball loses money on every college campus.
The NCAA recently released the 2014 NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics Programs Report. Here are some of the key figures from the reports. These are the Median Numbers for the FBS, FCS, and Non-Football Schools for the 2013 fiscal year.
FBS Revenues 363,000 Expenses 1,490,000 Net Revenue (-733,000)
FCS Revenues 88,000 Expenses 634,000 Net Revenues(-108,000)
As the numbers show, the cost of having a baseball program is a major loss for a university no matter what especially if it is a large football school. Remember, these are only median numbers so the averages are not available.
