I'll do my best to be as non biased as I possibly can. My top 10 is not based on a weekend. It's the final results based on the collective games of an entire season. Have fun shredding, but before you do remember this is an honor to even be mentioned. There are over 120 Atlanta Allstar, travel AA and AAA 8u teams. :)
1. Gamers - Only has one loss on the season to a team from the State of Georgia, OTC respectively, Albeit early in the season. No one at this level just yet. Can compete with the Elite 8 in the country.
2. Yard Dogs - I give #2 to the YD's. Only because Acworth didn't play like capable of a few weeks back when these two should of collided.
3. Acworth - Shame these guys and Yard Dogs didn't match up a few weeks back when given the chance. This team is closest to the first two of anybody. They continue to beat the Northside competitors and they are facing everyone's ace now.
4. 6-4-3 - Maybe the most umimpressive top 5 team you'll find. Until you look at the scoreboard and their winning. No ACE to speak of, no great hitters...Just well coached great fundamental ball club who capitalizes on your mistakes. Will hang around and hang around and then score 2 or 3 to beat ya. Last month has been very impressive but very little separation from them and next 5 or 6 teams.
5. GA Giants - Doesn't seem to have as many games logged in either in TC or USSSA as most others, but plays the top teams as well as anybody out there. On occasion will play at the weaker teams level.
6. OTC - Too Impressive early in the season not to be mentioned in this spot to me. Will be playing in State top 4 for the rings, Elite 32 at Disney, world series, etc. Will represent GA well. Still depth of pitching is biggest challenge. Nice run in the TC w/o one of their best pitchers all weekend. All that while playing at midnight Saturday, and turning around for a game Sunday at 8:30, 1 1/2 from home. All that said, lately have been more than beatable vs teams that a month ago you would not of suspected.
7. Eastside - I give the edge here over Hobgood only because the two have squared off 3 times this season with Eastside winning 2 of 3. Need better defense...put the ball and play against these guys and they struggle.
8. Team Halo - I wrestle with this one...Could be a #6, 7, or 8. OTC and the others seem to have their number, and haven't yet really beaten a top 5 team, but they are due and will at some point. I can Almost say the same things about this team and the GA Giants.
9. Hobgood - Fantastic run this weekend! Seems now the pitching rotation every inning is behind them, and they are peaking at the end of the season which is what you want to see. I think if they played Eastside 5 times in a row Hobgood would win 3 of 5. Great showing this weekend at TC.
10. South Forsyth Giants - Nice wins over 6-4-3,mama's boys, OTC, and Places in most tournaments entered. Not the team you want to face in a second bracket to get to a semis or championship game because they will make you earn it. Good Coaching, base running, and has a true ACE that's not overused. Doesn't run from competition.
11. Sandy Plains - I see this team as being very similar to South Forsyth, East Cobb Stars. Any of these can make a run on any given weekend.
