I don't know how you motivate your son. I like to expose mine to situations and kids dealing with adversity and overcoming fear,in an effort to do the "normal" things most kids can do. I could not help but think this may be interesting to more of you coaches/parents:

Absolutely fantastic...The coach who went out of his way to get him to play on his team needs to be congratulated. I love the comment from the mother regarding not protecting him.
