Though the number of teams entered might have you to believe different, very interesting and fun tournament to watch. You found it all...pitching, defense, hitting and coaching. The 4 south side teams found themselves in the semi's. The Halo and Yarddog game was riddled with errors. Halo looked a bit defeated before they took the field. Yarddogs still struggled to hit, scoring on a plethora of runs on errors. At one point in that game it was 5-0... ZERO EARNED RUNS. Georgia Giant and Elite Gamer game, well...let's just say it appeared as though the Gamers overlooked their present opponent. The Gamers had to rally from a 2-0 deficit and took control late to win 5-2. Now to what many of us stayed around to watch...the main event. It did not let us down. It was a packed house watching these 8 year old's like they were grown men. The Elite Gamers played defense just like that...GROWN MEN. We're talking diving play's, great relays, magnificent catcher play (The catcher threw out multiple would be base stealers). The pitching was very good for the Yarddogs. The Gamers just plain out hit them. I guess they only have 1 self proclaimed Gamer tamer. The pitchers for the Gamers baffled and frustrated the Yarddog players and fans the whole afternoon. This is only part 2, with much more to come from these teams. Neither team should get too high or too low. For they are easily the best 2 in the nation.
Side bar... Any team that has beat the Gamers this year was shut out and beat by multiple runs in their next meeting. |
