I agree baseball momma. I knew it would be based on my above post. The time has come to be aligned with the best and allow your kid to develop minus parental involvement. Some of the parents need to let their kids loose based on what I heard in the scuttlebutt. Time to stop living thru and enjoy them becoming men and making their way in this Game. |

As we all know in baseball, a walk-off home run is a home run that ends the game. It must be a home run that gives the home team the lead (and consequently, the win) in the bottom of the final inning of the game. Thus the home team can "walk off" the field immediately afterward, rather than finishing the inning. It originally was directed to the pitcher, who had to "walk off" the field alone as the other team celebrated. As far as I am concerned after the Five Star Warriors which was a solidly organized, spirited, professional and by all appearances fair 14u tryout there is no other competition in our area for the development of my young man. Actions speak louder than words!!!!!

The grapevine is saying that this will be two teams and players will cross. If the past is indicative of future results from a dad whose son used to play in this core group way back in rec ball and made the cut there will be a few that will play with both groups in efforts to win and get more work in. 2 five star prospects in the city bypassed the tryout. Overall they acquired two major new pickups that are slight game changers. The coaches are young and learning. They are guided by a grisly veteran that has had successes at the lower levels but has yet to realize the same on the big boy field. My guess is it is coming as the development continues. They have been and are still the gold standard in the city at 14u. I am on record on this sites archives as being a big fan of this program in its various iterations over the last two year. We always told our kids to shoot for that level of perfection and excellence. |

What a breath of fresh air! The parent meeting and fitting was organized and efficient. The coaches appear to care and see the Almighty $$$ as secondary which is a deviation from the last coach of my son. But I do want to thank him for making me realize it was time to hang up my coaching credentials which I quietly did at 630 pm today. I love relinquishing control to real professionals with no baggage or ulterior motives especially of the monetary variety. |

The Warrior program is the benchmark for the area and a longstanding program with solid alumni. Another great program in the area not to be left out. is the Creeks Baseball Club that started in the spring of 2002 with two teams in Northwest St. Johns County. In the 14u age group has had great representation and solid consistent performance. Pristine fields set in hardwoods and pine woods makes for a unique experience. Check it out at: http://www.creeksbaseballclub.com/ |

True story about Creeks, just too far for us. Would have definitely been a consideration if not for distance. |
