Hey, I know this is a baseball site, but the softball sites stink. I am moving on to coach a 9U travel softball team (born in 2003) at Sandy Plains.

http://www.sandyplainssoftball.com/
Workouts:

July 30: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1
July 31: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1
August 1: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1
August 6: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1
August 7: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1
August 8: 5pm - 7pm, Sandy Plains Field #1

Thanks,

Scott Pisciotta

Peashooter is right about this site for baseball, it is the best site I have found for GA Baseball and it is picking up some other adjacent
states. I also would like to expand the site to include softball as
many youth baseball player's families have daughters that play ball.

If we get enough interest, we will add a softball section.

Any knowledge of a 2013 7yr old competitive softball team on the west side of town? You are correct about the softball sites being poor. My Daughter has played with boys for the last 2 years and has been around travel baseball since her older brother also plays. She was the best hitter on the team and her coach wants her back but we think she needs to be with other girls her age that share her interest in the sport. It is also because of her experience that we do not want her to be with a team of players just starting.

I'm a former softball player from the dark ages, but I don't get the whole facemadk thing. I'm mean seriously. It's SOFTball.

rippit - just ask the college pitcher who had her nose and orbital bones crushed from a line drive that came right back at her, then you will understand the Facemask thing. Softball fields are smaller than baseball fields for players of similiar ages, and with the new composite bats, the ball can come back fast enough to cause serious damage. The ball is larger, not really softer. So thanks, but my daughter will wear a mask when playing 1st, 3rd or pitching and the risk of injury is greatest. I love her beautiful face and would like it to stay that way. Young baseball players are now wearing cages/helmet with cage, when playing the pitching position for the same reason.

Saw a girl take a line drive to her head this summer, knocked her flat on the ground and shook her up. She came back in a little bit later. Without the facemask, no question she would have been leaving in an ambulance.

Sounds like softball bats need to be changed also. Or maybe baseball players should start wearing masks. Sounds like some version of a double standard. While I'm yapping, cheerleading isn't a sport!
