Part–Time Job Opportunity Assistant Tournament Director for Youth Baseball ages 6-12 Location: Thomas Field- Hickory Flat- Cherokee CountyWhen: Late March to mid July 2012 * Background:For nine years baseball tournaments have been played on Thomas Field and have been very successful in filling tournaments due to the unique format used. I, Jim Thomas have been the tournament director for all these tournaments but now want to train someone to take over some of the duties. The person must be in good physical health, love youth baseball, and have some baseball experience as a coach and some knowledge of Dizzy Dean and Triple Crown rules. The person must also have a good speaking voice for announcing over a PA system and be flexible in terms of work schedule. Person must be a quick learner and not afraid to make decisions. General Info: 9 to 11 tournaments for Travel and Allstar Teams. Up to 8-10 teams per tournament 12 to 15 games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Games on Saturday may start as early as 8am and 9am on Sunday Duties: > Field maintenance supervision and work between games. > Announcing during games and operating a sound system playing stadium music > Communicating with umps and making rule interpretation that umps may need help on. > Recording game scores and posting seeding brackets on the internet online. > Notifying coaches of any changes to the schedule and answering questions they have. > General Field operations to open and close the field. > Awarding trophies
Compensation: Besides all the FUN you can take: $12 to $15/hr to start depending on qualifications plus meals , snacks and drinks from the concession stand. Promotion to Tournament Director will result in a 15% raise.
