Okay Moms ~ here is something that I need help with as I've been wearing the same old stuff to the ball park for THREE years in the name of comfort not to mention the fact that I don't want to ruin any good clothes (dirt, mud, rain, excessive sweat etc.)

What do you wear to practices/games/tourneys? I'm inclined to try and improve my appearance what with all the New Year's resolutions I'm kicking around today. I'd love to be a style hound, but don't want to look like an idiot dressed to the nines while sitting in the rain or 100 degree weather. You know the ones I'm talking about.

I'm not really trying to impress anyone, but I want to at LEAST get rid of the homeless look. However, I cannot/will not give up my visor or baseball cap!!!

You gotta get rid of the baseball cap and get ya some good lookin shades girl! On a more serious note I feel what you feel at times......comfort vs. Style. We just recently started playing with a new team so that was kind of my push for a new wardrobe. I love my stretchy skinny jeans with flats and I do a cute top in team colors. Under armor makes some really cute and stylish things as well, but if your like me you can't afford it cause our boys have to have it. LOL. In the summer I will do longer shorts. Remember accessories always add to your wardrobe.
Moms around the parks need to do a self examination! I see things every tournament that is way to tight and shows way to much. So good luck!

Gotta wear the hat! My head has been sunburned (yes through the hair) so many times that I developed a skin cancer thing. I have tons of shades to choose from depending on my mood and wear them like an addiction. But I do vow NOT to wear the hat at night from now on unless it's very windy. Can't stand having hair blowing in my face.

I'm with ya rippit. Gotta have the hat/visor AND unbrella or tent to shade my Ipad. Not so worried if I get burned but if it overheats I can't keep score!

Too funny ... I had the same thought recently. I feel like I never look "pulled together" but then realized there is a reason for that. It's tough to look fantastic when you've been out in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity for 10 hours. So my thought process was quickly abandoned ;)

The hat is a must for me as well. I never go anywhere without a baseball hat (or at least a visor). Keeps the sun off my head and out of my eyes and protects my hair. Plus my hair tends to "expand" in humidity. I actually look better with the hat ON!

When my kids were younger I wore shirts with their team's name on it. Under Armor style tanks. But I was told recently that's not cool. Not by my kids ... by another Mom. So no team shirts for me this year. I will, however, wear team colors.

Truly, I'd rather look like a baseball Mom (baseball hat on, huge bag with everything anybody would ever need throughout the day, sunscreen on, not a lot of makeup - due to need for sunscreen, etc...) than the Mom who looks like she's 40 going on 18.

The best I can promise is my toes will be in proper shape for flip flops. My shorts won't be too short (or too long). My shirt won't be too big (or too small or low cut). My jewelry will be simple and tasteful. The dirt collected on my bare skin at each game will be washed off ASAP! Those little wipes are awesome - I carry them with me all summer long. And I will continue, of course, to carry "The Mom Bag" which has everything but the kitchen sink inside "just in case".

Whoever told you not to wear a shirt with the team name on it is just plain WRONG. I don[t particularly care for all the beaded/sequined/ribbons and bows junk though. Just a classic tee with the team name or whatever on it works for me.

Now yesterday was fun in 30 mph winds!!! We laughed at ourselves and the hoodies, blankets, ear muffs, scarfs, hats etc. that made everyone hard to recognize.

I've decided to stick with who I am. I've been collecting new apparel as our team changed bringing with it new colors. I'll always be in the team colors and something I wear will not leave any doubt as to who I'm cheering for. I also promise to be tasteful, have my toes "did" etc., but like you, the hair is best when in a ponytail under a cap or visor.

I try to wear team colors. My older son's team is easy peasy (red or blue and white). My younger son will be more challenging I think. Royal Blue and Orange! LOL! I do like wearing the team name so I'm glad to hear someone say it's OK! My boys actually like it.

I'm hoping we don't have to dress in 10 layers this weekend! Looks sunny and fairly warm in the afternoon. And the gale force winds seem to be gone too ;)

If some one told me that wearing a shirt with the team name on it was silly, I would laugh. And wear the shirt. Our team takes orders for the parents to buy a team shirt, and usually all of the moms, and dad wear the shirts. The kids like it, and it shows we are cheering for our kids.

You should wear the team shirt if you want to wear the shirt. I even did my toes to match the team colors one time and all the moms thought it was cute.

I agree with the team colors and team shirt. Our boys seem to get a kick out of their parents being "in uniform". I wanted to let you all know about the mom bag I just got because it has been great for me. The company thirty-one has all kinds of bags, but the large utility tote is awesome! I also got the picnic thermal tote which fits into the large tote and leaves tons of space for everything else. Both are lightweight and collapsible. (not a sales pitch, just really lovin' the bags!) now it sounds like I should head out for a team color mani/pedi! Love it!

I am all out for comfort. I cannot stand to sweat and that is all you do on the ballfields in the summer. I wear the thinnest shirt I can find with flip flops and shorts. I think if I wasn't overweight I would wear the team shirt but I look like a man in a regular tshirt. I do get the team color Pedicure. I have to show some spirit.

What to wear: Sunscreen, visor, sunglasses.
I do jeans and sneakers with a team color shirt.
Light blue Lacoste, changing colors/ or Tee's every 3rd game or so.
What to bring: Umbrella, water.
I have never worn shorts/skirts or flip flops.

It doesn't matter what age group a player is in, if you cross the line, someone will say something to you or behind you. No moms need to put themselves in that situation.
After all, gotta represent your kid in a business like manner.
