I have noticed a few teams saying that winter workouts are starting soon. It seem like the kids need to rest their arms for a few months.

When do most of you start throwing again?

We go to the cage once a week and work on fastballs, changeups and curves for an hour to an hr and a half. We will start back throwing in Late January.

We start conditioning next week. Hitting in the cages and core work. Pitchers will start to throw in January.

Conditioning workouts have started for us a couple months ago. Maybe that's what they are talking about. My son stopped throwing at the end of October and will pick it back up towards the end of the 1st week or 2nd week of December. He's thrown (flat ground) during November, but not much. I think at least a 6 week period before HS tryouts is a good time to start getting the arm in shape for the HS tryouts and season is a good idea.
