Is anyone aware of any organizations that would be in need of my son's baseball gear that we no longer use? We have a basement and garage that is quickly building up with bats, helmets, bat bags, and even a complete set of Mizuno Samurai youth catcher's gear. I have no desire to try and sell any of this. If anyone knows of an organization that is supporting kids that want to play this great game but just can not afford to purchase the necessary equipment, please let me know.

Check with 643. I know they have some coaches that go to South America on a mission trip each year that focuses on teaching baseball and are always looking for equipment to distribute on that trip. I would contact Pralgo and he can steer you in the right direction.

Andy - thanks for the reminder about the Miracle League! There are many throughout the Atlanta area, and really are a fantastic organization.

Our older son (who was 1lb 7oz when he was born) used to participate in Miracle League softball games, and I highly recommend folks going out to support the Miracle league during games. We try to bring our younger sons teammates out to volunteer to help them understand 'giving back' and all the hard work/effort of the miracle league kids as they work to enjoy the game we all love.

bigmcbb, I have a contact at the Miracle League who recently reached out asking for equipment donations. I can put you in touch if you like. Just drop me an e-mail.

Also Atlanta FCA Baseball has an inner city middle school ministry where they run the middle school baseball league. We have donated to them in the past. You can check their website athttp://georgiafcabaseball.org/.
