Sports-A-Rama East Cobb will be hosting local youth athletes to take batting practice against Mike Mosley aka “Mr. 7000+” and “Rubber Arm” and will be helping him to break his current Guinness World Record™ by pitching 10,000 baseballs in 8 hours in a batting practice. Local athletes will be able to take 20 batting practice pitches for $20 or teams can sign up for $200.
The event will be at Sports-A-Rama East Cobb, 736 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30068 on Saturday, February 12th from 10 AM – 6 PM. A portion of the proceeds will go to the local breast cancer awareness group. Athletes and Families will also enjoy visiting with our sponsors such as, Under Armour, Chic-Fil-A, Atlanta Braves, Johnny’s Pizza, Williamson Bros. BBQ, and others at our event and we will have some special appearances such as Eddie Rush (NBA Referee), Mike Cameron (Boston Red Sox), Chevez Clark (Los Angeles Angels), and others.
Mr. Mosley is personally inviting members of the media from 12 noon – 12:30 pm to take their best swing against him. “This is a great event and I am proud to have the sponsors and support of the community to take on this record breaking event and to help a good cause”, says Mosley. He continues, “The event is only as successful as the ones who help bring it to a reality”. Sports-A-Rama General Manager, Gerry Schmidt, “this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to be able to host this event, have our local athletes come out and take their best swing, show the community support of our athletes from local and national sponsors and most of all help benefit a great non-profit organization such as breast cancer awareness. Of course, it has been a pleasure to work with Mike Mosley and we look forward to him setting a new world record as well!”

About Mike Mosley: Mr. Mosley set the now current record of 7,268 pitches – 7,003 of which were hittable – in 8 hours, 33 minutes in March 2008. He has been a personal batting practice pitcher for several Major League Teams, such as the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds and LA Dodgers to name a few.

Under Armour will be on-site selling baseball cleats and spikes for BELOW Retail Prices.
Come on in on the 12th; take some BP, eat some BBQ, and buy some cleats! |
