I am assuming that the new BBCOR will require high school and high school age travel baseball to adapt to these new safety rules??? any definitive decisions and rules in effect at this time?
Everything is going in that direction. From what I'm hearing @ the colege level don't be surprised if you start seeing wood being used more & more. THese new bats don't have much pop.
BESR metal bats are allowed in HS in 2011. BBCOR will be mandatory starting in 2012. Colleges require the new BBCOR for the upcoming season. Also, in HS, only certain composite bats will be allowed in 2011. Check the GHSA website for allowed composite bats for 2011 before you use or buy a composite bat for 2011.
After looking abit more at the rules that are in effect, I'm thinking there should be an age that H.S. rules should be adhered to in travel ball. ie at 14 or 15 BBCOR should be be required this coming year? any comments.
I agree with 15 year-olds playing HS rules since they should be in HS to begin with. As far as everyone buying new BBCOR bats this year, I'm glad not to do it this year because this economy is killing me.
For those of you who need a HS bat this year please let me know. We are blowing out what we have left in the BESR, and we even have the Worth Copperheads that sell for $50 for those who need a bat for just this year.
