Red Sox are close to cutting Jason loose, or trying to get him for a song. I like David Ross, but I'd prefer Jason for a 1 year deal with 2nd year option to back up Brian for about $2.5M with performance clauses. Better stick and better leadership off the bench. Lefty hitter who's been to the mountain top. I wonder what DLowe would recommend since he's played with Jason in Boston. Anyone got DLowe's ERA with Jason vs. w/o? I've heard he's great at handing pitchers.

I could see Jason and Chipper grooving their swing at Chipper's cages in Gwinnett County for one last run at it. Only 20 minutes from Jason's. I know of an ex MLB pitcher nearby who can throw BP to them...sharpen up Beau.

Jason's a former GA Tech star with home and family nearby. Makes too much sense to me to pass up. Anyone have Scotty's (Boras's) cell number, or any Braves numbers? BMoser can make this deal happen!

Pretty sure this isn't going to happen......David Ross is under contract and he has hit very well for us off the bench....

Why get rid of a great talent to bring in one for 1 or 2 years? I see the Braves as having a VERY strong foundation along with great "relievers" for the everyday guys. I think Ross has earned his spot. Just my $.02

I like Veritek but there is no way I will agree he is a better stick than Ross. Not historically, but what they bring for 2011. Ross is the epitomy of a back-up. He is good defensively and while he is not the bat Mac is, he doesn't hurt you in the lineup.

If we did not have a good one, I would be all for the hometown boy but he would not be a beneficial add.
