I try to have several workouts/tryouts for a few reasons. 1) allows for a bad day (illness...late night...etc) 2) how does that player interact with the others on and off the field 3) the more you see of a player, the more information that you have to base a decision (goes both ways-the more you see of a coach and his staff) 4) you get to see the player in different circumstances, a scrimmage, in a practice environment, etc. |
