I took my son for a series of workouts at the ECB complex recently. Wow! If you haven't been there for a tournament or a workout, I highly recommend it.
I have heard that ECB was nice but, seeing was believing. Wonderfully maintained fields, large bleachers with canopies to shield you from the hot GA sun, and the sound of baseball being played from one of eight fields. I was half expecting to see a guy offering mints and a towel in the men's room.
I was fortunate enough that my son "showed" well and was invited back for additional workouts. I had visions of my son donning an ECB cap and impressing his baseball buddies (well me actually). I was proud that the hard work he put into his practices was paying off on the field.
The coaches we met were fantastic. Definitely a different class of coaches that I had grew accustomed in several years of rec ball/summer all star and one year of travel ball. This is not to say that ECB is the only place you can get quality coaching.
While we were not offered a spot "wink" "wink", we were strongly encouraged to attend the tryout by several coaches. Unfortunately, reality is a harsh pill to swallow. I had no idea that baseball could be or would be so expensive! I only wish I had the money to spare.
If you can't join 'em. Try and beat 'em.
BTW. What is with that little house at the main entrance? Reminds me of the kid's movie "Up". A sole property owner holds out while the land around them is being developed. I bet that guy hates baseball! |

| The house is now the offices for the park. It was the lady's house that the land was purchased from. I love how it looks. It's the dream all kids have of what they wish their backyard looked like. |

I too shared your view of East Cobb the first time I saw it. Having been involved in what many consider a very good rec program, East Cobb's facilities blew them away. They take great pride in what they've built and it shows, with the facilities and coaching, now you know why it's such a draw for players. |

EC definetely has some very good facilities. That is part of the reason they have gained a national reputation. They have something to offer the big tournament organizations. They draw from the whole southeast and nationally. It is a huge advantage for them.
By the way, that house is also used to put up several kids from out of state to come play during the summer. Not sure how many, but I know of at least a couple of guys from Mass. that live there during the summer to play for the 17u Braves.
